It's dawn out here in Manila on Christmas Eve....
and as I sit on my little lower bunk-bed in Detention at the Bureau of Immigration jail inside Camp Bagong Diwa ....I'm thinking of you all out there, and hoping that you have a Very Merry Christmas!
My life, for the past 500 days plus, has been one lived in incarceration, due to charges levied against me by the Federal government of the USA concerning the distribution of harmless cannabis seeds internationally, which they call 'Narcotics'.....As we all know, there is no 'Narcotics' in a cannabis seed....
I moved to the Philippines in 2006, and have been a law abiding, legal immigrant, who has been raising a family here over the last 8 years. And now with young kids that depend on me for their growth and survival, the USA, in cahoots with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration, have been trying to tear me away from my family by attempting to get me to voluntarily deport myself, away from them, after first trying to force me onto a USA bound aircraft, just 10 days after I was illegally arrested and detained last year.....
I have now elevated my case to the Supreme Court of the Philippines, in the hope that I will find some real justice. Where my attorney can show that my constitutional rights and right to due process of law has been disregarded. Hopefully while this is all going on, I will be allowed bail to be able to continue to support family here.....
I am not the only one in this world going thru such hardships centered around the ridiculous draconian laws surrounding cannabis, at this time...And I would like you all to reflect upon all of our brothers, sisters and friends who are, like me, are spending this Christmas behind the wrong sort of bars, due to their persecution, and prosecution over this plant, which brings so much that is good to our world, whether in pain or leisure, and has done, since time immemorial.
Have a Very Merry Christmas, all of you out there!......and enjoy your love, life and Liberty....whilst you have it intact...
