What??
Delaware - Ex-Trooper To Run First Marijuana Dispensary.
And HE Possibly gained his license illegally!

You don't think the cannabis laws are screwed up?

The same guy's that sent you to prison will now sell the pot to you!

This is not a one time deal either.

Delaware has signed a two-year contract with a company led by a lobbyist and former aide to U.S. Sen. Tom Carper to operate the state's first medical marijuana dispensary, which should begin serving patients early next year. Mark Lally, president of First State Compassion Center, which won the Department of Health and Social Services contract, also is a former state trooper. "First State is committed to creating a facility that provides safe access to high quality, affordable medicine to licensed patients in Delaware," the company said in a written statement.

The dispensary will be located at 37 Germay Drive inside an industrial park just west of Wilmington. Marijuana growing operations are set to begin this fall, the director of Delaware's Division of Public Health told lawmakers in letters this week. Lawmakers passed legislation in 2011 to legalize marijuana for medical purposes. The law, signed by Gov. Jack Markell, called for three medical marijuana dispensaries – one in each county. The center near Wilmington is opening as a pilot facility.

"The Division of Public Health and the Office of Medical Marijuana are committed to providing oversight and support to help First State Compassion Center provide patients with a safe place to acquire the medication they need to attain an improved quality of life," Dr. Karyl Rattay, director of the Division of Public Health, told Sen. Margaret Rose Henry, D-Wilmington, in one of the letters.

Rattay said First State Compassion Center "has assembled an experienced team with a high level of competency in the field of medical marijuana." One of the firm's principals, she said, was "deeply involved" with operating a medical marijuana dispensary in Rhode Island. She said the facility will be within driving distance of a large percentage of Delaware's population and is near two bus stops.

The signing of the contract comes despite a lawsuit filed against Lally in Delaware Chancery Court by former Lewes City Councilman Jud Bennett. He claims Lally breached a contract to help him win the contract to operate Delaware's dispensary. A judge is still weighing Lally's motion to dismiss. "They have won the battle, but not the war," Bennett said by email. Jill Fredel, a spokeswoman for the state Health Department, said the department was not concerned the lawsuit would affect operation of the dispensary.

"Our first concern is for the patients who will be served, and we did consider the potential effect of the lawsuit on First State Compassion Center's operations," Fredel said. "While we can't predict the outcome of litigation, we are satisfied that First State can continue to serve patients even if there is an adverse result in the case." Delaware's law allows dispensaries to cultivate no more than 150 plants and keep no more than 1,500 ounces of medical marijuana on site at any time. Access to the marijuana is limited to qualified patients and registered caregivers.

Just take a look who is getting these licenses?????

Politicians that voted repeatedly to trash cannabis are now the same people selling cannabis to you.

Something very strange is going on here.
check into it.....it may surprise you who the people running the cannabis industry are.

From Judges to casino owners.....mostly people who were against cannabis before they saw $$$$$$$.

They are screwed up for sure. However the free market is still king. Any pot head that chooses to buy from this ass hat should be shot, or at least shunned, lol.

he can put it on the shelf, no law can force you to buy from him. if no one buys, he goes bankrupt...sounds fair to me.:tiphat:

Remember he is the only game in town!

the black market will always exist, shaggy. it has been there since the 1930s, and it will be there until anyone can grow any amount of anything they want. there is no such thing as being "the only game in town"... it did not/does not work with liquor, it aint working with weed. no one gets everything they want the first time around. as long as we are still going in the right direction, i don't CARE if someones uncles grandsons next door neighbors former employee gets a permit. if you don't want to buy from someone for some reason, don't. it really is as simple as that.

If you are just going to circumvent the system...then why legalize?
Why?...if it will not benefit you....why do it???
Vote to legalize and purchase black market weed, that just makes no sense at all...maybe I am missing the boat, but I just can not get my head around the logic.

So you vote to legalize it......don't like your situation, and go for the illegal weed instead......WHAT?
Why do that....what could you stand to gain from that way?
I do not understand????

Where is the logic in that statement?

Think of it this way, I have $1000, is it better for me to hold on to it till I find the best deal?
Or should I buy the first one I come across and then try to get my money back when I find a better deal?

After you went all in, it is hard to get your money back for a better deal.....RIGHT?
So I propose, we hold on to our money till we find the right deal....that is all.

Is this the way you spend hard earned dollars?
Is this how you handle your rights, to choose for yourself what is best.
That is just the way I see it though.

what do i stand to gain? if it is legal to possess, then i don't have to worry about going to jail for possession. just what is it about that does not get through to you? if you keep your shit at the house & don't bother people, they are NOT going to go door to door demanding to do DNA tests on your weed. i buy bourbon at the package store, but i still like moonshine too. one is a little riskier to purchase, but once i am home with it there is NO difference. KEEPING PEOPLE OUT OF JAIL IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN GETTING IT PERFECT THE FIRST TIME AROUND! if you do not understand this, there is nothing that i can or will do for you...

What I think you may be missing in all this is:

People would still go to jail for not purchasing from:
DPDsplash.jpg

Yes, if it never leaves your house, your chances are less.
But you still have to transport it. (most get caught here)
But if you get caught outside your house, you would still go to jail for a non-approved transaction!

So I would like to hear of a legalization where nobody goes to jail for cannabis.
I assure you people in legal states are still going to jail for cannabis.(not CO....The dome ya know.)
I figured some would say that....so I wanted to be first.
Sorry for the sarcasm...not directed at you!

go buy some legal weed. go home, throw it away, smoke it, whatever. KEEP THE CONTAINER. put YOUR weed in the container. it really IS that simple. just don't smoke while driving (will ALWAYS be illegal) and 99% of your problems are solved while we keep on working the kinks out of the system...

Hey, we got a sheriff down here in AZ that hired a dispensary owner from CO, (her family still owns a couple stores in CO), to be his figure-out-how-to-bust-MMJ-peeps Czar.

For 86,000 a year this bitch went to the other side.
Hmmm?! Maybe they're a cop family from CO that got into the MMJ game.

Up here in Canada we have a bunch of former police and politicians who are working with the licensed producers(federal program), I'd even say its more common than not.

Its not what you know, its who you know. Something like that...

And here we have active duty uniforms w their mmj card & grow on a cg status/scale... what they do w the overages? And another group of badges that ran a delivery service... and another group of task force that raids one dude to drop off gear to another... and another that hit all sorts of places to literally warehouse it & redistribute. That's all independent shit from the last year or two. Imagine all the shit we don't hear about. Whole world is corrupt as fuck... everywhere, for all of human existance.

I think that the politicians in Canada seem to have quite a bit in common with their American counterparts, they are so busy catering to the hydrocarbon and defence industries that they do not seem to notice much else.
The demise of integrity on the scale we are seeing right it now is very recent and to best of my knowledge is unprecedented.

Cops in Michigan recently got busted running a canna butter operation.
Thus my point of this thread.
But I am not a fan of even cops going to jail for cannabis!

Long live the home growing, it is a plant still right?
They are trying to take away these rights as we speak.
So seek the truth for yourself.
I feel it is our duty to stay properly informed.
