C99 vs Pineapple?

i'm sure this has been asked before, but i couldn't find it exactly...

i've been a CA medical patient for a while now and a few years ago the strain "Pineapple" was everywhere, and it was consistently good and sometimes really great stuff.

a guy recently told me that all of those Pineapple strains were actually Cinderella 99, and that thanks to James Franco nobody really knows what the hell all this Pineapple Express stuff is at all.

Anyway... I'm curious about the history of all of this, but most importantly what i'm wondering is if i'm looking for that great Pineapple from a few years ago, what should I be looking for??

Thanks man! And of course I don't mind. I'm brand new here and trying to grow for the first time and I'm just now starting to realize how much I don't know! The amount of info here is pretty amazing. Are you a grower or just an enthusiast? -mac

i don't know pineapple but c99 is a jewell for indoor growing.
very short flowering time, good resin coverage, pretty manageable in cab, known for quite up high effect and her nice fruity "pineapple" taste.
pineapple is also a taste/aroma from c99.

i'm currently growing c99bx from mosca, blooming pretty fast, trichomes since the 3rd week of flowering.
and the best: it's a line is nearly fixed, so it can breed true for some characters ;)
you can't go wrong with it.

there's plenty of threads on cinderella 99, i would recommend you searching through icmag if you want more informations.

sounds like you should be looking for a bag of c99 seeds,
the pineapple flavoured plants werent that elusive in the earlier versions of c99 ,
where ever they are now ..
i labelled a version of c99 pineapple having selected for that over a few generations ..
look into the history and youll see the original breeder mentions pineapple and tropical fruit ,
she bred pretty true to form ,
so i cant see how current versions could be too far from the originals..

Welcome Welcome!

ICMag is full of great info and people!

I am both a grower/enthusiast :)

If you haven't grown before i suggest learning about equipment and environment before you pop any beans of these cool strains you seek.

And wow some fat irony, theres a c99 f2 seeds advertisement above from Gypsy seeds.

If you have a thread regarding your grow space or plans for one, post a link so we can help you with that too. :)

Mr. Mallard - thanks so much for the response. When I was digging around last night, I found information about your Wallyduck C99, so thanks so much for taking the time to respond! I feel like there's a really good chance the "Pineapple" I was smoking was yours. If so, I gotta say a huge thank you - that strain was hugely responsible for the beginning of my late-in-life love affair with herb. :canabis:

And yes, I would love to get my hands on some C99 seeds! It looks like your C99 is no longer available on Seedbay. Bummer. Do you have any idea where I could track some down, or would you recommend another breeder?

Thanks again, man, real awesome to hear from you!

Dude, good looking out! I never pay attention to banners. But when I check out seedboutique and seedbay i don't find the pure Cinderella 99, just a Durban Thai cross - DTC99 F2 and some other crosses. Maybe that banner is from 2009 and I have just snoozed and lost?.

I will definitely be posting info/photos about my grown plan and space because i could definitely use some tips!

Hey there c99 is a wonderful plant to grow and smoke
If you go to seedbay and look at the private breeders section go to nuggetshiner's Magic Bean Foundry they have 12 c99 seeds for 60.00
Also if you go to seedboutique House Of Love (HOL) was giving out 5 wallyduck c99 f3's with any purchase. If that sounds nice to you I would p.m. clarence to see if any are left.

One more thing, c99 does well in crosses and there are quite a few to check if you want.

Dang, that's a real tough call. I'm leaning toward Nuggetshiner's because I like the idea of grabbing from a private breeder, and I just read his whole thread on the strain.

On the other hand, I really like the idea of getting some Wallyduck beans, I'm just not familiar with any of the HOL strains - though they all sound damn good. I would definitely PM clarence but I'm new and I guess I need 25 posts before I can do that? Should go by in no time and I'll hit him up. thanks!

sounds like pineapple thai. As for C99 its only something thats popular because of its quick flower time.

This sounds just like JW's NL x C99, it's a real loss to the community that his creations are no longer around.

I think that I have a 10 pack of HOL's KQR F2's I got as a freebie (Thank you!) It is another loss to the community that she is not around.

Thanks for sharing!

I know they used her KQR for thier caseys queen (which i have on the way :) ) .... so its very possible they did F2's of it . nice score robert !!!

Seems like time I spend researching this stuff, the less I know!

I found a bunch of info about the Mosca C99 BX1, including an awesome huge grow by rhaco, but i struck out finding any seeds - they are Out of Stock everywhere, it seems.

seed boutique does have these: MOS Cinderella 99 F1

sorry to be dumb about this stuff, but can someone tell me the difference between the BX1 and the F1? Thanks!

I was definitely leaning heavily toward the Casey's Queen if I grab some HOL beans. Sounds awesome. Mind if I ask what made you choose that strain?
