Northern Lights #5 BCSC (British Columbia Seed Co.)

In the 90's I had a pack of NL#5 from BCSC and absolutely loved them. They were easy to grow, had limited growing odors, packed on high yeilds in a short period of time, were extremely frosted, and sent you to the moon with a couple puffs.

My question is ... Does anyone these days offer this lineage of Northern Lights #5, independently or through a seed company?

Bodhi Seeds TT NL6 x BCSC NL5 Type: tt nl6 x bcsc nl5 Genetics: tt nl6 x bcsc nl5 Flowering Time: 8-9 weeks Outdoor Harvest: Height: Medium Characteristics: back to the future nl the second installment into the back to future projects... trichome technologies 90's era northern lights 6 cut wed to bcsc's northern lights 5. the trichome tech nl 6 is a classic short, dense, prolific northern lights, with a knock out stone and a piney, floral, alpine spice bouquet. the male is a robust bcsc nl5 stud. out of all the availible seedlines of nl5 i grew out, the british columbian seed company (bcsc) was by far the best by leaps and bounds... beautiful, thick, resinous, mold resistant, and easy to grow... pic is of the mother.

at the moment they are sold out though, maybe they will be restocked?

You could try PEAK seeds northern lights. They are made with the BCSC northern lights and old Sensi seeds NL. Ive tried them you can look through my older posts for a description. Well worth the 40 bucks.

I really want to try those Bodhi NL seeds. There's a dispensary in town that has contact with him and I've made a request , so we will see...

Based on my experience with their Northern Berry and Blue Berry I'd have to agree. The Northern Berry was HUGE and very vigorous. Well worth the $40 bucks.

Hmm I've been looking for some northern lights to breed to me Lebanese plants. Looks like it's time to find some mums and studs.

Peak Seeds looks and sounds good, especially Bodhi's stuff ... but I am hoping to one day obtain this NL5 in it's pure form. It was around for quite a while, and I know it was dispensed around the world. Surely someone can locate, ressurect, and share it with the masses? This northwestern treat deserves it.

peak seeds is the most nl 5 ive seen and grow since pre 95 in seed form .

frosted to death , forgiving and potent to make you fall dick in the ground . can compete with elite of today any day of the week . funny fact , when you share some with a young in is 20's kush only smoker , he ask you which incredible kush is this strain and start to bable on how awesome this thing is .

if someone told you the contrary , he is full of shit from toes to hair .

My 2 cents also go's for peak seeds. I have a pack of the Northern Lights, but I still have yet to run it. There is a member here, who's screen name starts with an E, something like "eatincargo" (I'm way off, but it's something like that), who has pretty much grown out the whole peak seeds catalog. In fact, 1 of this members grow threads inspired me to get the Kush berry from peek seeds, along with the NL. If you search for Kush berry in the flower pics forum, I'm sure you'll come across this specific member.

there were 3 northern lights from sensi if my 1980's memory banks are serving me correctly. nl1 was the narcotic dark green afghani1 indica . nl2 was the boysenberry ( absolutely delicious) nl. nl5 was the frost queen. nl5 was the northern lights used in the haze/nl hybrids. the nl5 didn't take too much away from the haze high effects, added resin, bud structure and shortened flowering times. nowadays it seems like only nl5 frost queen is called northern lights when ( again forgive my burnt out memory cells) in fact originally there were three distinct varieties of northern lights.

i'm off to look up peak seeds. thanks for the lead.

I have grown the PeakSeedsBC Northern Lights. Had a grown with 4 seeds, 2 males and 2 females. Two very different phenos.

One was a very true to the description at PeakSeedsBC, ...Growth Pattern: Medium/short height, stout, uniform, productive branching.
Breeders comment: Couchlock, medicinal-use, low-odor, simple and easy to grow. Classic, original, indoor strain."

The other pheno was really different in that she stretched like crazy for the first few weeks, and she was NOT low-odor at all. She really was smelly by the chop. She was more of a knockout stone then the the first NL pheno. Had to stop growing her because of the stink and my lack of odor control.

Moved on the BOG Bogglegum and found quite the keeper with a NL dominant pheno. It only begins to reak in the last week of flower, but the smell is very similar to the PeakSeedsBCNL. Again, a very potent knockout stone in 49days.

I went with original NL from Classic Seeds. Have not grown it yet so no opinion. Have a Nirvana NL finishing, stretchy kinda plant.

Have not smoked a NL yet to my knowledge, years ago maybe and did not know it. Everything was called 'skunk' at that point. Like Kush today.

Dr. Atomic NL is supposed to be good but not 'original', has added sativa.

You can still find bcsc beans if you look hard enough. I almost got their skunk, but decided to hold on in favor of some other things.
