Catching another grower in my area.

Merrywanna

So last week I am out walking the dog and I notice someone has cut a small tree as a marker. The next day I am out for a watering run and there is a car parked near one of my spots, I stop and look in the backseat and there is a cardboard box on its side with some duct tape keeping the flaps closed.
Well I know what this person is up to so I decide to run to the top of the hill to see if I can see where he is. No luck, so I decide to wait for him. About 20 minutes later here comes this 30's something guy (I'm pushing 50) out of the woods with a backpack on his back. I say "hello how's it going and what not and are you growing cannabis in woods". He says "what, whats that?". We go back and forth like this for little while and this guy is freaking out. He even asked if I was a cop. Then cause I am positive this guy is a grower I take the plunge and tell him I grow and have multiple spots around here and that I am not stupid and know what he is up to. Well he finally admits he was planting and we have a good chat and I asked him about the marker and he says no He didn't do it. So now we got a third party in "our" area. I know that one of my plants did have about 30-40 seeds last year but it could have hermied for all I know.
So now this guy and I have become growing partners and set up 3 new direct seeded AF spots far away from "our" other area.

Merrywanna, you got big problems. First, youve broken the golden rule - TELL NO ONE- which means you no longer have a grow.

You dont know this guy from adam. But we do know this: If the guy acted in a manner thats allowed you to figure out what he's doing, he's careless and inexperienced. To actuallly admit to you that he's growing is foolish beyond imagination. He should have denied it to the end and never come back. If he'll admit it to you, he's told others as well. Ive been growing for years and my wife, who often drops me off, cant tell you exactly where my plants are at. TELL NO ONE.

Youre done man. Find an isolated location in which the remoteness and roughness of the area really precludes anyone from going there. Youre growing in grand central station.

Stupid, stupid, stupid. Should have left the guy alone. I can never see myself cornering another person in and saying "Do you grow cannabis in these woods"? Let alone telling a random stranger that I too might grow. I'd go elsewhere and never look back. Haven't you learned anything here?

such locations are not everywhere to be found, around here the best I can do is look for ignored locations, not isolated locations... wish there where such isolated places around here, but here everything is either farmland or nature reserve(and those are maintained, usually former farmland), and then there are some forgotten/ignored corners, only small locations but nobody looks after it

outright waiting for him and telling is a bit risky tough, I'm almost sure I once met another grower too, but didnt say anything to him except a greeting.
one of those forgotten corners, small bush close the city, had planted some seeds there but hadn't really put any effort in it, went to check if there was something 2 months later or so and there was a guy that forst seemed like a regular walker, but everytime when I tried to go into the bush he suddenly followed me, as if he had something to hide/guard ion that bush. I went around a corner and sat there for a while to wait of he would go away, but he kept peaking around the corner now and then. o eventualy left and didn't come back till fall, and then I found some small plots that were already harvested, not wel hidden, I found them because I saw rockwoolcubes on top of a pile of leaves, turned out there were empty bags(from soil, a brand only sold at growshops as far as I know), netting, and the stalks/stems of plants stripped of their buds and leaves. looked like he had an outdoor SCROG, one of the plots was only 1-2 metres removed from the path and I think it's a miracle he was able to harvest it(my lazy non-effort seeds were planted in the midde of that bush, where there was an open space, more light as at his plots I think and also 5-10 metres from the path with vegetation to obscure view in between, so I wonder why he didn't just do his grow in the middle, especially since he obviously invested more into the grow and so had a lot more to loose as me)

I ran into a prick once, thought he owned the forest, said go and grow your pot somewhere else. By doing that he might as well have told me that he had plots in the area.
Didn't take me long to find them and I can assure you they didn't last long.

And this is why we just love you here Nog. Maybe you should have respected his being there first and moved your shit.

Maybe we should start a contest to pick out your next name. This one ain't gonna last long I'll bet.

I always have mixed feelings when discovering someone else's spots.
This year alone I've found 3 spots. Two of them are run by total amateurs, one has 2 plants one has 4 but they do not seem to have bright future ahead of them.
Other spot is bigger, has about 20 plants in it and further 20 waiting in pots.

The latter doesn't concern me as it is far away from my spot.

The first two, noob-spots, are my concern as both of them are in radius of 100m / 300 feet from my spot with 15 plants in it....

What a story, I Love it! As for myself I would rather keep things the way they are: I work alone! But I guess that once you have run into a situation like that perhaps working together is the best way to stay safe, I mean, once someone knows they knows and now you have to make the best of it!

Good luck with that! Who knows, you may just have found a great partner. An inexperienced partner that it but eh, that will be you job to teach him, right? lol!

I've had a few "neighbours" across the way over the years. Always a polite nod of acknowledgement when we drive past each other since in my neck of the woods we all know whats going on, no need to rub it in each others faces, though. Live and let live although if I had someone close by who was heating out my garden I might have to politely ask them to not ruin it for the rest of us.

What about the cut a small tree as a marker do no harm. If you seen it who may have too.
in Sept and Oct see kids out on bikes smelling the air to see what house that they are going to rip off
