Let's Build The ULTIMATE Garden

g'day mates,
Time for some fun.
I was going to keep this a secret and unveil it once finished, but I thought how much better it could be with everyones help, so here we go.....
I'm relocating and re-designing my garden.
And I want all of your input.
I'll start by saying this-

I have no budget to stick to,
but I like to keep things simple.

So think BIG, but not over the top.

I have 2 rooms- 4.5mx4.0m and 3.5mx4.0m.
There will be 4 600w hps and 3 400w mh in the flower room over 7 3'x3' tray and 6 400w in the veg room on a light rail over 8 3'x3' trays.
I'm already installing split system a/c's in the rooms, and have a couple of dehumidifiers.
I don't wanna change my system, but I wanna try sealed rooms with Co2 and air-cooled shades.
What would you recommend?

No one has any ideas?
C'mon let's get this show on the road! :woohoo:
At the request of our friendly resident Guineapig, here is a rough plan of the layout, I think it'll give you a pretty good idea, all walls are brick.
Guineapig has kindly offer to help in the Co2 department ( :bis: let's hear it for Gp! :bis: ), so now we just need to find an expert in air-cooled lights :chin: . Feel free to chime in with any other ideas you might think are helpful too.

Thanks 00420,
I'll look into the light you recommended!
I would like to try a coli one day in a garden setup stictly for production. At the mo' though I like to play. And I get alot flexibility with my current sys. 1plant/m2 or 25/m2 I can do it all!! Yields already average 1.5lb/m2, I can only imagine what Co2 is gonna do to that!!

Thanks for dropping by with an opinion Rez, I apprieciate it.

I'm not using 1000s, GanjaJedi cos I prefer a more even coverage. And besides I've already got all the 400 and 600 watt ballasts and ALOT of spare bulbs

I was thinking last night of giving another medium and nutes combo a go if anyone has any suggestions. I currently use Canna Coco, and Canna Coco nutes.

timtim,

Sorry if I missed it but are the trays flood and drain? As far as medium goes I've seen quite a few guys use a mix of 60% hydroton and 40% coco. This mix is supposed to provide a good airy, well draining medium while giving the roots some protection from high temps.

Good luck, looks like fun

Thaks for the suggestions guys, keep 'em coming!

I've already done the Canna vs AN thing 00420, and Canna chewed AN up and spat it out!- AN 560gr/600w Canna720gr/600w!

I like the hydroton idea, but as I only water once a day, I think it might be a wee bit airy!

And yes Gronut, the trays are flood and drain but I only use 'em for drainage, I hand-water.

How about going for a 100% organic feed with the coco? Its what im heading toward, if only for my personal smoke......regardless its gonna be a great grow.

I don't mean to troll, but can you be a little more specific about both products used.

Bro your garden is ultimate enough =]

Ok guys here it is,
AN products were- 2 part sensi grow&bloom, piranha, tarantula, voodoo juice, fulvic acid, humic acid, sensizym, B-52, Bud Blood, Carboload, Big Bud, Overdrive
AN= pain in the as to mix, stinky mix!

Canna- Canna Substra Vega & Flores, Rhizotonic, Cannazym, PK1314, Carboload(AN)
Canna= simple, clean
Comparisons were done using my NLxSkunk1 3m2 of each.

Anyone got any more opinions on air-cooled lights?????
I'm still a bit stuck on this.

Do you think it was all the additives that killed the yeild? Or just the 2 part sensi? What do you think of this http://www.wormsway.com/detail.asp?sku=SCB310# as an alternative to the Canna CoCo? The Canna coco seems to be non existent in my area.

Hey Dez,
I think it was the 2 part sensi and the Big Bud, some of the additives I quite liked (piranha and tarantula).
As for your other question, that coco seems like it'd be ok, just gotta watch out for the salt content.

As far as flushing the salt from the coco, would you say this is true? "Either purchase a pre-flushed coir product or flush ph (5.5-6.0) stabilised water through the coir prior to use.
Measure the ec of the water and then measure the ec of the run off.
When they are the same, it is ready for use." oh, how do you feel about adding other median to the coco mix, like perlite, vermiculite, etc...
I think worm / mushroom compost would make a nice addition.

Have ya got any ideas yet on air cooled lights?

Hey Dez,
What your saying is right, but I'd prefer not to have to flush it in the first place. I've actually never come across coco with a high salt content- even the stuff at my local hardware shop is salt free. So I'd say that stuff you asked me about should be fine, being for horticaltural use 'n all.

I prefer not to mix anything with coco, I hate mixing, and besides, it works well on its own. I did used to mix perlite with it though.

I'm still open to suggestions on Air-cooled lights.
And also I'm installing a split system air con. Does anyone know if I'm better of with an inverter model??, or just a standard compresser??
