Is it normal for the lower hairs to turn brown over time or is it a sign of a problem.

Here are some pics

The nest pic is of a different plant but a few weeks younger but is getting fatter.

Yeah "really" This is my first grow and can't afford to have any problems this late in the grow season. I just wanted to be sure. I also read that it could be a sign of pollination so I spent a long time looking for a herm but did not find any. thanks

It's normal. In the old days, dark hairs were used to determine harvest, when about 50% had turned.

yes when buds are fertilised the pistils turn brown/orange as if they are ripe already but i dont think this is the case with yours .... i have grown some strains that the preflower pistils change colour as soon as switching to 12/12 mostly sativas ... also it could be enviromental ... i think it will be fine mate
