First off I would like to thank everyone who contributes their wealth of knowledge to this mass consortium of ideas known as icmag. without you guys i would still be wondering what i did wrong in that shop light lit tin foil lined closet way back when.

A bit about me:
before getting into this I spent 10 years of my life jumping around from thing to thing avoiding at all costs the 9 to 5 lifestyle. worked as a union carpenter. taught english in korea. worked on a very strange film in greece. worked with local dayak tribes in kalimantan, indonesia gold mining. bartended in prague. worked on mykonos island as a security guard for a bus stop convenient store, and as a food server at a camping ground. bummed around dublin on a couch out near dolphins barn. in between all that running a tightly knit petitioning crew for ballot meassures and voter drives in california, going all the way back to prop 215. before i get spam for why everyone hates petitioners let me say that i worked on progressive meassures only and have registered well over 100,000 people to vote in my time as a store front hustler. also that is by far the hardest crappiest job someone can do and thankfully it eventually gave me panic attacks or else i might never have been able to cut the tie. i'll say this, i truly and thoroughly enjoy the calm serenity of tending plants over 10 people surrounding me holding boards in their hands while i fire off answers to questions.

I grow completely legally in accordance to california state and local guidelines, prop 215 and sb 420.

All my grows are organic, using whenever possible omri listed ingredients.

im a newb. been growing indoors for a bit but had a very disastrous, rushed unprepared first outdoor crop last year. that netted me a bunch of caterpillar eaten, powdery mildew infested green bin material. learn from my mistakes please! read up, outdoor is not simple or easy. there are folks out there with phds in soil biology, this is not something to take lightly or apply to half assedly.

if youve noticed i havent capitalised or used correct punctuation. thats because i type with three fingers and am generally very lazy that way.

I live in so cal. I know theres some kind of irk applied to this area among growers, and you wont catch me trying to defend the place. i just spent 4 hours in traffic ok.

the garden area i grow in is just a small backyard. Id like to show people who might otherwise want to move up north but cant that yes it is possible to do this in other places.

i love what i do. i love what this community is. i hope to bring positive vibes and try to atleast contribute in a small way.

on with the show:

first a pictorial progression to catch everyone up to where i am now

Great opening post bro. I am really looking forward to this. It is great how you are showing people that they really can do this in their back yards with a little determination and elbow grease. Have a great season.

thanks RW and everyone! hopefully i can make this a show.

This is how i put those pots together, some people asked so here it is. this can be used with anything not just burlap. in fact if i were to do it again id use that breatheable quality smart pot material. besides the original idea isnt even mine, i saw that some guys like Tom Hill and Butte have made their own pots and decided id give it a try.

thanks man! i bought this propane grill for 10 bux off craigs list solely because it had a half full propane tank that i could use to fuel my co2 burner. and because i needed a grill. for someone like me who has been living in apartments forever, i was pretty stoked to be able to cook outdoors. since then ive bought more propane tanks, but the alternate is empty..

Great write up. Very detailed and nice pics. This will help a lot of people.

thanks HL, i hope it does, ill have the supp lighting and irrigation put up here too. plus im gonna be forging past the 5 gal tea brew soon, time to make a 55 gal brewer. your posts up in sac were really impressive man, i like the liberty bell reminder of what true american values are. keep it up!

thanks man!

thats the plan, some green love in the back yard, in socal.

last week over here was a heat wave and this week its been all cold. have to say though, how lucky was it for me to transplant without hardening off the last few days of the heat, then got an awesome reprise with overcast weather and a light rain. i think it really saved some plants. now theyre up and running. actually almost all of the girls seems to be out of their shock. the badly rootbound banana kush is recovering nicely. some of the other badly rootbound ladies like the bullrider are purpling with the cold and shedding lower leaves. probably a response to breaking up the root mass prior to transplant. as per usual the silver buddha didnt shock at all. new growths everywhere though. training the branches into the cages have had a topping effect for most of the girls with the most training.

hindu kush fully looking recovered and new sprouts every where along horizontal branches.

Wow she really does have some purple traits. So you have grown her indoors before? Does yours always have purple stems. Where did you get the strain from? That is going to be a beautiful plant.

the flower there is from my indoor grow. she did the same thing though outdoor last year as far as purpling. i got the seeds from this dispensary down here a while back. they had a bunch of seeds from cali bean bank but the guy was like, hey u want these and showed me the hk seeds from a inde grower they had. the seeds werent associated with any known breeder as far as i know.

the stems arent always purple but they do do that. it seems like the nugs were bigger outdoor, go figure i run co2 and that usually makes em larger than what i had outside.

temps inside that room were in the 70s

thanks i hope they do perform well. does your blueberry hindu kush look similar? or is that blueberry crossed with hk?

Very nice keep up the good work and have a great crop this year. I have been in the same position traveling a lot living in a RV with a 2X4 hydrohut ,600W ,capXGC-E1 ,CO2 and a Bluelab guardian meter. I just made a offer on a house in central Cali yesterday I cant wait to grow outdoors.

When I got my hands on the seed it was just called Hindu Kush/Blueberry and was supposedly bred by Sagarmatha. It did not do good in my climate at all but I have worked with it a lot over the years to get it to be the beauty it is today. I should ask Sagarmatha what he knows about it.

right on HL man id love to make some crosses one day. im gonna have to do some very serious studying before that happens. let me tell you it felt very shitty to have to cull one of the hk males i had. what a great plant he was, ferocious growth and hardy. long live hk#9! the one i showed is his sister #7.

ha man i have that cap xgc1e too. ive been liking those guys, especially after they replaced 12 600w digi ballasts because i had them running INSIDE the same room with the plants and blew them all due to erosion from high rh.

rv reminds me of these guys i know growing in their boat in marina del rey. i dunno how they live and grow in a tiny ass boat.

heres what you shouldnt do prior to transplanting: dont let them get rootbound and dont veg with hps!
