Finland: Police raids growshop and uses their customerinfo for more raids

Marijuana was found in Garden Trade customers homes

Police suspect the company representatives sold
plant breeding tools to promote drug offenses. Police say that cannabis growers have bought a home accessories store that specializes in drug cultivation.

The Company web site describes its garden center, which specializes in aquaculture. The company has shops in Helsinki, Turku and Tampere.

Police have taken a firm grasp and key people made a lot of searches and seizures. Police have also examined the customers' homes.

"We found a significant number of houses with marijuana," said Detective Chief Inspector Jari Luoto Tampere Police Department.

In Finland, there is no case law as to whether plant breeding instruments are related to the crime of drug promotion.

"This preliminary investigation is a kind of precedent. various courts will weigh the issue," Luoto believes.

Source does not reveal why the criminal investigation against just this one company. In Finland, there are other shops that sell the most common cannabis use and farming tools.

"The investigation is still in its infancy," Luoto justify sparse information line.

This is unfuckingbelievable... I translated this news with Google translator from original news source and quickly read it through.

We are going toward police state here... Police can raid normal citizen that buy things from stores and make charges toward shopowners even if they do not know that their products are sold to cannabis growers. :booked:

Maybe a stupid question but what kind of trail do you leave paying in growshops with a credit card for example ?Wouldn't they have to make the bank cough up the address to raid customers ?
Anyway it sucks ...

Great! They have one of the highest rates of suicide and people can't even medicate at home...

Guess booze is plentiful for the depressed and suicidal.

Why does the fuzz hate the plant so much? I just don't understand why so many people are afraid of something that can't hurt them. I am surprised to see that this is happening all around the world. Good luck to those dealing with all of this first hand and keep pushing forward.

We just have to OVERGROW!!

People here specially the senior ones are happy bout the raids..Even that it's against the law.
Our drug policies are same than in US. Not so long imprisonment times like in all crimes here but the idea is same.
Those pigs get more salary when they make arrests..And what's easier to go and catch a fucked up hippie than a biker with automatic guns and bazookas.. Shitpans mothaf***ers!!

But you get what you order...more people getting fed up with this economy shit and money making.. Before the economic downturn Finland was NUMBER 1 in the world in spending! Here "everybody have to have" new TVs, new Fn sohva every second week, TWO cars and lots of other shit that you wont' need!!

Well fuck that and we do what we do best! Get this whole bloody country totally HIGH!

this is some f*k*ed up shit!

I almost had the impression that police here in finland seemed to be a little more tolerant towards home growers nowdays, but no! they pull this kind of shit..

"hey sarge it's been quite a quiet month with the arrests.. well lets go raid that growshop downtown, and raid all of their customers also!"

unbelieveble!!!

It's messed up cause it's a legal shop selling legal stuff, to customers with no priors mostly. They would just raid you, if u had an extensive order history @ the shop. They (the man) are calling it aiding a drug crime or whatever fancy legal term they use for it, but to me it's a sign of a police state.. Next they will prolly raid anyone who bought more than 50 liters of soil last year.
Fuck the cops, useless fuckers coulnd't find a handle on a cup without bending or breaking the rules. I hope someone goes nuts and shoots em in the face or sumtin. Just to get ppl talking.

Well, as your lawyer i must advise against that..

Be drunk and claim you don't remember shit and you'll do a two months in jail per cop, especially if u make it look like a drunken driver thingy.. Finnish law protects drunken ppl see. It be funny if it wasn't so true.

:hide:

Our justice system is a fucking joke guys!

It's unbelievable! When will the governments understand that they can't put their hands in citizens privacy?

I agree with BadTicket, I'm from Poland and my uncle who is a drunkard drove completely wasted from his work to home (he works at the theatre), bumped few cars on the parking lot, ran away, then bumped the trunk of some other car on the street like half kilometer from this place. He was so wasted that when the driver of that car opened his car's door, my so called relative almost fell out the vehicle... And what? Nothing! No jail sentence. Just a fee and 2 years ban for driving the car...

He could have killed somebody. And they did nothing to him! And when the f..kin police catches somebody with a spliff, he could (theoretically) end up in jail with up to 3 years sentence...

What's "funny" about these raids is, that besides the ganja growers, also lots of people who have nothing to do with growing dope got their homes raided... It's going to be intresting to see how this turns out in court, though pigs get away with ANYTHING round here.

^That's what I was thinking. The article as posted states that they found a "significant number" of houses that were growing weed. I wonder what the stats actually are and how many people who were within the law had their privacy stepped all over by the police.

Isn´t MJ legal in your country? As I understand it MJ can be prescribed as a medicine legally so what´s with the crackdown? Don´t you people have one of the highest rates of domestic violence in the world? Add to that suicide and later day massacres and I´d think the cops would have better things to do.
