Well I have been fooling around with Google's Sketchup 7 as some of you may know, and I must say I am really getting the hang of it!

I have quite a few different grow cabinet/box desings and thought I would post them up here on ICMag for all you fellow ganja farmers and newbs that need help in designing a box/cabinet.

First up....my rendition of a Mills Pride C24 (I call it C24 Redux). It is a cab designed for perpetual SoG grows and houses a Flowering section,a clone/veg section and a mother section. The Flowering section of the cab is lit by a 400w A/C HPS,the mother and clone/veg sections by their own independent 2' 4 bulb T5 fixtures.I chose 8" x 8" louvered darkroom vents for the passive intakes of all three sections. The 400w A/C HPS is cooled by a 4" 172cfm Eco Plus inline centrifugal exhuast fan which also ventilates the grow and the exhuast system for the flowering section is set as so:

Passive intakes > A/C hood > Exhuast Fan > Outside grow box.

You can add a carbon filter inside (scrubbing) or outside (exhuasting) the cab.

The mother and the clone/veg section can be exhuasted using simple 80mm-120mm axial/PC fans.To make the Axial/PC fans light tight all you need to do is attach a little ducting to the backside and make a 45-90 degree bend in the ducting.

She measures as so -

Outer dimensions = 49.5" w x 25.5" d x 78" h

Inner dimensions - Flowering section = 30" w x 24" d x 72" h

Inner Dimensions - Clone/Veg and Mother section (measured as one but subtract 2.25" for bottom,top pieces and the shelf seperating the two) = 30' w x 24" d x 72" h (remember subtract 2.25" so really internally it's 69.75" h).

I'll be adding some of my other cabinet designs later on as it is 5:30 a.m. and I am going grouper/snapper fishing around 8:00 a.m. till this afternoon.

If you need some simple ideas just stop by here and take a look...you might just find what you are looking for!

What about doors? For me that is always the hardest part, keeping them lightight, but I suck at building stuff too.

If you look at the front of the cab you'll see that all the walls, the floor, the ceiling, and the shelf are all flush. All you have to do is get the material to build the doors.

In order to work on your mom(s) and clone's/vegging plants while the rooted clones are in their dark half of their 12/12 photoperiod all one would need to do is get four 1" x 1"s and adhere them to the edges of the two walls, the floor, and the ceiling of the flowering section (about 0.75" from the flush edges).

Then get a pice of MDF or OSB that is 0.75" thick and install it along the faces (outer edges) of the 1" x 1"s,secure with hinges and possibly a lock to hold it in place.Use weather stripping for any light leaks that may occur.

Here is a C13 that has been modified and sectioned off for a perpetual SoG grow.

The lower portion is a mother/clone/veg area lit by a 2' 8 bulb T5 fixture.The intake is a louvered 8" x 8" darkroom vent,exhuast is carried out by a pair of 80-120mm axial/pc fans.

The upper section is the floer/bloom room and is lit by a 400w HPS in a SunGro A/C hood (you can substitute with a cool tube or super sun or whatever). The ventilation and coolingof the light is carried out by a 4" 172cfm Eco Plus inline centrifugal exhuast fan (you can substitute with a 6" or 8").You can attach a carbon filter to one end of the A/C hood or on the outside of the caband exhuast the air into it.

The C13 measures 24" d x 30" w.The flowering section is about 3.5'. and the mom/veg/clone area is about 2' h.Again you can modify the heights if you like.

In order to work on your moms, clones,or vegging plants you will need to install a small light tight "trap" door to the front of the flowering section. This can be done by simply attaching 1" x 1"s to the inner walls and the shelf and top of cab and then using hinges attach a .75" x 30" x 36" piece of MDF or OSB.Use a lock to keep it in place or magnets.

Just so you can save some money, space and heat... Those 2ft. T5's aren't necessary for clones to root. Just a 23w CFL or two will do the trick.

Yeah I know that but that section will also be housing 1-2 mothers, rooting clones, and up to 5 vegging clones. The rooted clones would only be vegging for 1-2 weeks (strain dependent).

*EDIT* For the C22 Redux you are absolutely right but the top section is for 1-4 mothers, the bottom section for rooting clones, once rooted the dome would be taken off and they would be allowed to veg for 1-2 weeks (agains strain dependant).

Clones/seedlings only need 375 lumens per square foot for good growth and growth rates but a mom or vegging plants would like somewhere around 2500-5000 lpsf hence the decision of T5 lighting.

Thanks for the kind words Cellar,SirSmokesAlot and others.I'll be adding more and new designs over periods of time.I haven't been able to do so lately as I was down with a real nasty cold for the last week and some days.I designed a small cab for another grower here although I hadn't gotten around to posting it....well that and I don't know if they used that design or not.

C13 re-designed to measure 2' x 3'

C13 re-designed to measure 2' x 3'

This is something I have been considering doing and thought I'd post it here.

As we all know (or atleast us Mills Pride fans) the original C13 measured 2' x 2.5' or 5 suqare feet.Well in order to try and squeeze a few more grams out why not enlarge the footprint a little with no negative setbacks.

Lighting is still a 400w HPS in an air-cooled reflector,4" 172cfm inline centrifugal exhuast fan,2x 8" x 8" louvered darkroom vents for passive intakes,and a DIY replica of a Can 33 filter.

is there someplace where you can host the grow box designs? I'd love to open it in sketchup and make some modifications.

Which design do you want?

Let me know and I'll upload it into the Google Sketchup warehouse.

Please feel free to post your work here in this thread....I'd really like to get a whole bunch of designs placed in here and maybe one day it could become a sticky...I'm still working on a buch of other desings for smaller (150w-250w HID setups) medium sized (single 400-600w and even single 1000w HID setups) and even large designs (multiple 400.600w HID setups),but they are no where near done and I am still working out the mathematics of airflow needed for cooling/ventilation and carbon filtering and of course...stealthiness.

nice design - but i'd make the flowering cab a bit bigger for a 400watt light.

Any one of them, they look great but I want to try my hand at modifying them. I'd be happy to post what I come up with. A thread with a handful of these files for download would be a big asset for people who want to get a solid blueprint before doing construction. :joint:

here is mine...

here is mine...

I just cut the 5/8 plywood for this today.

Its meant to fit under some stairs and be totally stealth.

3x 400w/430w HPS Cab

3x 400w/430w HPS Cab

Here is a medium/large cab I have been designing.I'm not quite done with it though as there should be some form of frame support for a cab of this caliber/size,maybe some 2" x 4"s running from side to side/wall to wall.

The inner measurements are 2.5' w x 9' l but the footprint for the plants/lighting is 2' w x 9' l....this would give us 66w/square foot and 8333 lumens/square foot.

Outer measurements with doors made form 3/4" MDF are:

31.5" w x 109.5" l x 73.5" h.

3x 400w HPS or 3x 430w HPS can be used in this area. There is an 8" inline centrifugal for air-cooling the three lights and a 6" inline centrifugal for ventilation of the cab and deodorization of the air via a Can 75 carbon filter.

Wow those are all really nice designs I love the c13 flower/veg combo, I think thats what im gonna make instead of my old dresser.
The c13 dimensions are 24''D,30''W with a 400hps in that setup, the cab at home depot is 20''D,29''W so im thinking a 250hps would be better since the cab is a lil smaller, my bedroom gets really hot also, will a 250hps work good in this cab?
