My First PC grow... Input please and how you think my Plants look so far..

Ha.. My wife thinks I got a new PC..

After a crash course in reading and researching, I started...

My situation was such that right now, PC stealth was my only option..

My Setup.

Case 18.6 long 8.1 wide, 20.6 high.. 1.02 SF of space...
2 intake fans, 2 exhaust fans. Over 100 CFM
4 CFL's A mix of 2 26W 6500K and 2 26W 2700K 4 bulbs total...
Fox Farms nuts
Loam organic soil
6 inch clay pots with drain holes.

Lights 16/8... I run the lights from 6 pm to 10 am as It is VERY hot where I live(Deep in Summer so worst time to start for me but I still wanted to try).. I got a small solar fan I put inside blowing at the lights and they have helped lower the Temp.. Temps stay between 81 and 88(Avg 85) with lights on and 78 to 82 with lights off..

Seeds were 2 Female LowRyder#2.. I started them in soil and they Germed in 3 days..

These Pics are at 10 days old from the day they popped the soil.. They look healthy and like they enjoy their home.. Do they look ok for 10 days old in the Pic's???

Hard to believe these will be done in 60 to 70 days total. I am realistically hoping for 18 to 28 grams once harvested and dried.. I think when they get a little bigger I will start LST to help increase the buds.. Since I only have 2 plants..

Because the pots are small, I now water every other day(I have a water meter).. Also Started nutes every 3rd watering(Once a week basically).. And my mix of Nutes is half the recommended..

Also because of the high heat, I started this week lightly misting twice a day while lights on with a mix of 25% water and 75% Seltzer water.. So far, they seem to dig this.. They Perk up when I mist them..

First time ever doing this.. Let me know what you guys thank and thanks to everyone that answered my questions.. I am sure I will have more questions as my journey now begins.. :)

Kuroth, you need to load the pics to your album, then we can see them.

Also, it's not a good idea to have intake fans, better to have open intakes and let the exhaust draw air into the case and out through the scrubber. Otherwise funky air could be forced out through any gap in the case. Can also be why you're having temp issues, I'm still having them. not enough air exchange. Do you have a fan blowing on the globes?

GL and grow well!!

Oh, you added teh pics while I was typing haha

They look good so far, did you build the case or buy pre-made?

Hi.. Thanks for the suggestions.. I bought it.. Was under 300 so compared to a lot of others, I feel very happy with what all came with it..

So should I try shutting off my intake fans and just having my outtake fans on only??? I was confused about this.. The Intake fans are placed on one End near the botton and the outtake fans are placed on the oppisite side up higher(Which is what I have read is where they need to be situated)..

yes What really seem to help my heat.. Lowers it by 4 or 5 degrees, was I have a small fan inside blowing directly on the bulbs..

Definately loose the intakes, and I notice the exhaust is about mid way on the back. I had my exhaust there and battled with temps getting in high 90*F range. I had to cut a hole closer to the top to get them to come down and that was with only 70Ws of CFL.

Some threads that go into great detail about ventilation.

I guess, are you into DIY or willing to learn?

I am willing to learn.. I have already made some minor modifications to my setup and in looking at it, I think i could build one just like it now if I wanted to..

Someday I was thinking I would like a bigger type Stealth Cab.. Maybe like 4 ft tall that can hold like 15 to 20 plants.. I might try to DIY on that since they are like $1,500.. No way I will spend that.. I did not mind the $300 for this one to get me going..

My suggestion would be to divide the space with a glass sheet. Have the lights separated of the rest at the top in their own "wind tunnel". The temperatures lower in the plant space will go down that way.

basscadet try a small fan blowing on the bulbs.. Once I did this my Temps came down from 90 or 91 to 83 to 87.. 85 avg now.. I also run the lights at night and that helps..And it is like 105 here where I live and at night dont get below 80.. uggggg Hot as hell and my house is hot too.. AC on 78.. Runs all the time.. I know once it cools off here I think my Tempp will be a lot lower... So I think right now is the worst time of the year for me..

Search Ebay for a clip on Solar Fan... I ordered 2 of those.. 1 backup..

Growing is addictive. more than the plants that's for sure. Sometimes people throw away cabs and PCs and you can pick them up from the side of the road. That's how I got both of my cases haha.

You may need to cut a hole at the top of the back of the case, hot air rising and all that, and put the fans there. What design are you using for the scrubber?

Interesting suggestion.. Thanks for that.. Right now in the dead of the hot as hell summer I feel Avg 85 not bad?????

Thanking to the future, my house sometimes gets cold in winter so now I am wondering if I will have more challanges in the Winter time.. Will cross that bridge when I get to winter.. LOL

Thanks for the hole idea.. I was thinking about that.. Do you think 85 is a bad Temp.. I was at 91 but now that I have it down in the mid 80's I feel better...

I just have a Carbon thing foa scrubber..

91 is kinda hot if left that way for too long, optimum high temp would be 80*F, but if the plants were outside they'd go through heat waves and cold days, they're plants after all. But aim to get the temp down.

The cool tube is a good idea but needs it's own exhaust and intake but it does separate the globes from plants as Karelian said.

I have a fan blowing across the globes but I think I need A stronger one or add another fan. I like the idea of the solar fan, how long does the battery last?

Just got them so not sure yet.. I was using a battery one but man was having to put in rechargable batteries like 3 times a day.. So I hope the Solar works better.. As you know, being a PC case, we are very limited to the size of things we can put inside... LOL Will let you know if I like the solar fans after I use them for a while.. I will post a report here..

85 is an exceptable temperature for the grow space, at night even in hot climate's 75* would be desirable. Putting fans directly over the light balast's and coil reduce temperature's drastically. Right now I would be more concerned about how I'm going to keep the plants short enough for that space. So far, the seedlings look healthy; keep us updated.

Thanks irie4i... As far as keeping them short... Would LST be good?? I got Lowryder#2 as I read they only get 18 to 24 inches.. I also got some Lowlife and White Dwarf seeds as I hear these are short growing.. But yes I am concered how tall they might get but wes hoping LST will be by best friend..

At some point in the future, I want to try breading the lowryder#2, Lowlife and White Dwarf into some generations to see what these seeds turn out to be...
