Quit Tobacco for Trip to 4/20 Cup!

O

OHenry

Thought that would get your attention!!!!

I, myself, don't smoke anymore butI did and I know how hard it is to quit. Ecspecially if you have nothing to quit for. I got lucky and found a girl that would not let that stand !!!! lol.

For those of you still hooked on the cigs this could be a great way to quit! With more than 300 days until the next Cup you all have plenty of time to save some money, make some plans, and quit those butts!

In my area a pack of smokes cost nearly $6. For those of you that are at home and smoking almost two packs a day that could add up to more than $12 a day. If we used 300 days until the next cup as our timeline and lets say a one pack a day smoker as an example you would end up saving $1800 just by quitting. Double that if your smoking two packs!

START TODAY!

Keep track of how much money you have saved on this thread and help motivate others to quit smoking cigerettes! I know other members out there feel strongly against smoking and would certainly be of help if you have any questions about quittting or are looking for help on how to. BOG has a great thread in the Tokers Den that you should all check out if you haven't already.

I don't know all the secrets of the tobacco companies and my goal with this is not to talk conspiricy talk. Rather I want to provide support and help many of you who have thought that Amsterdam costs to much and that they'll never be able to afford it! Quitting and actually saving the money for a goal like this is GREAT!!! Hope to help someone out there!

Think of the REWARD!

YOUR HEALTH
YOUR LIFE
YOUR TRIP TO AMSTERDAM!!!!!

SEE YOU SOON !!! OH

CYF-If you do the math...usig the average cost per pack @ about 3.50? Over that much time it certainly was less money for a longer time. Unlike today's prices of $5-7.

So anyways...If you do the math get this...

$64,792. :bat:

Enough said!

I watched a 40 year old friend of mine die this week from lung cancer. A month and a half ago he complained about a very bad sore spot in his back. About two weeks ago they sent him home to die. A couple days ago we watched him take his last breaths. Maybe just quit so your family doesnt have to watch this happen to you . I have been tobacco free going on 9 years. Has to be the best thing you could do for yourself and if you can get a trip to the 420 celebration on top of your family not having to watch you die.... sounds like a nobrainer to me :) good luck

i haven't smoked a cig in over 5 yrs now....and i quit with hypnotism too....

it was a one on one session and i am impressed with the results....before i quit dozens of times....

i think we have made it more difficult by repeating how hard it is to quit and such

someone needs to make up a chant for this purpose alone

Hey quitting is not easy I know, I tried many times. I didn't get hypnotiized but I did have accupuncter <----- spelling :chin:. It worked for me but I wanted to quit. I hope this works for somebody.

I haven't had a cigarette since April 8 of this year, after 36 yrs of smoking. That may not sound like much of an accomplishment, but it's the longest I've gone w/o in my many attempts to quit. My wife and most of my friends still smoke, so the temptation to light up (tobacco) is ever present. BOG was a source of inspiration for me to quit this last time (and hopefully WILL be the last time).
There are many different methods of quitting, and a whole industry of products and multi-step programs has arisen. Patches, lozenges, gum, inhalers and both OTC and presciption medications are now available to help us quit (capitalism...gotta love it). I have been taking Wellbutrin for depression for about 5 years, and since it is the same medication as Zyban (a drug prescribed for quitting), it may have been helpful to me in quitting. That being said, I have failed several other attempts since taking Wellbutrin. I tried the patches one time, but I couldn't keep the damn things lit :jump: .
I am convinced that the best way to quit (and, coincidentally BOG's growing technique) is "keep it simple stupid" or K.I.S.S.

A) Don't put a cigarette in your mouth EVER again!

B) A valid reason or rationalization for you to have a cigarette DOES NOT EXIST!

C) Realize going in that you will always be tempted smoke...even 10 years down the road.

These are just a few things I have learned through many past failures in trying to quit smoking. I vowed that I would not become one of those "preachy" reformed smokers, so this is as far as I will go, but there is one more fact worth mentioning: If I can do it, you can do it!
