Day 19 of 12/12

Day 19 of 12/12

Hi all,
still got the 2 males seperated from the other females in the garden, pollen sacks are starting to swell and multiply now, i'm guessing it won't be long till the first pollen sacks start opening, i was a little worried keeping the males under only 20w flourescents but they seem to be flowering fine even with the low light, the Uk Cheese is moving along real nice as well, plenty of bud sites and loads of pistels waiting to be pollinated, just waiting on the males showing signs of dropping then i'll be able to get the pollen collected and get the show started :joint:

Day 21 of 12/12

Day 21 of 12/12

Hi MM,
really difficult to choose which 1 to use man, the first 1 (first 2 pics in last post) has a stockier more compact structure, and has the most pollen sacks so far, the other (3rd pic in last post) has a taller structure with slightly less pollen sacks at this stage, both smell strongly of Pine so it's a tough choice dude, i'll get some more pics of the males up either today or tomorrow :joint:
(Uk Cheese day 21 of Flower)
Here's a few pics of the Uk Cheese today, nice amount of pistils at this stage, resin is starting to appear on the leaves also, still not needed any nutes so far (this new version of Special Mix is unbelievably hot compared to the old stuff)

Day 25 of flower, Finally We Have Snow!

Day 25 of flower, Finally We Have Snow!

Hi guys,
i got rid of the stockier/shorter male earlier this week, i noticed 1 pistil coming out of a single pollen sack, it was only 1 pistil on the entire plant but i didn't wanna take the chance and use him incase it caused probs in the offspring, he was looking great as well, had loads of pollen sacks but because these will be going up as freebies i don't wanna make hermie seeds which could ruin other growers sensi gardens.
the other male has finally started to drop pollen, i'm thinking of pollinating the Cheese right away with this little bit, and as more and more drops just keep pollinating over the space of a week or so?, or is it best to pollinate all on the same day?

peace

Just finished pollinating the Cheese with the pollen i collected from yesterday and tonight, it didn't seem like there was alot there but it was surprising how long it lasted,
i managed to dust a little on each of the upper bud sites using a small cotton swab,
i've taken the Cheese out the main grow area and put him in with the NL#5xHaze male, so the other NL#5xzHaze females don't get pollinated,
once more pollen drops tomorrow etc i'll dust the cheese even more, do this over the space of a few days in the hope of getting as much seeds as possible, hopefully i should know within the next 24-48 hours if the pollen is viabe by the pistils withering

peace all :joint:

Day 28 of 12/12

Day 28 of 12/12

Ok 24-40 hours after the first pollination some of the pistils are starting to turn orange/rust on the tips (hopefully this is a good sign?),
later today i'll use a hair dryer (on cool setting) to blow off all residue pollen then give it a light misting with water, let it dry then put the Cheese clone back in the flowering room with the other female NL#5xHaze's.
the male NL#5xHaze is showing purple on some of the the pollen sacks as well, looks cool but i'm pretty sure it's only because the temps at night are quite low (clone is in a cold, stone wall cupboard)

Day 32 of 12/12

Day 32 of 12/12

Hi Rick,
thanks for checking in man, the digital point n shoot camera i'm using is ok (Kodak C743),
but i've had the same 1 since i practically started growing around 21 months ago,
decided last week it was time for a change so i've bought an SLR, i'm just waiting on it getting delivered,
it looks like i've got really lucky with the pollination,
i was a little worried incase i didn't pollinate enough but it now looks like the whole plant is seeded :rasta: ,
every bud site on the plant top to bottom has pistils changed to brown/rust,
calyxs are beginning to swell even more (at day 32 of flower hopefully that's a good sign),
so far the cheese clone has been getting only light feeds of organic nutes (0.5ml grow/l, 1ml bloom/l, twice),

peace :joint:

Day 34 of 12/12

Day 34 of 12/12

Hi Rick,
thanks for posting the link man, never realised Dampkring already had a version of this, just had a quick look there,
i wonder if it was the Uk Cheese Clone they used or a select Big Buddah Cheese Female?,
they've got it marked as 50% Indica 50% Sativa which is interesting,
do you know what the Indica/Sativa % is for old Seedbank Skunk#1 bro?,
need to find out the Indica/Sativa % of NL#5xHaze as well,
pretty sure a hybrid of the 2 is gonna be more than 50% Sativa but i could be wrong,
i think there will be quite a bit of difference between my 1 and their 1,
like SSH + Mango Haze - practically exact same make up but with different Mothers used but crossed to the same Father plant
if they used the Uk Cheese Clone it'll be the same case except it'll be the same Mother but different Father,
it'll be interesting to see how the results compare,
the chances are that Dampkrins may be better as they would of had bigger #'s to pick and choose their breeding stock,
but you never know, i may have found a gem and just don't know it yet,
stranger things have happened for sure.
Not sure how many seeds there's gonna be from this 1 clone(hopefully alot  ),
took some pics of the 3 female NL#5xHaze,
1 of the 3 females will be used in the backcross projects after Christmas,
starting off with NL#5xHaze plant #7 (following pics are of #7), it's the shortest out of the 3 phenos, only had to train this girl once, smell is straight Pine and a little spiciness in there,
i'm testing new nutes on these NL#5xHaze's before i decide to use them on the Neville's Haze later on once they're in flower, i'm using:
Green Dream 1 Part Bloom
AN 2 Part Sensi Bloom (A+B)
AN Carboload

plants have been getting fed every 2nd watering but rotating between the Green Dream and the Sensi 2 part,
on the weeks where they get plain water they also get 1ml/l of Carboload,
it feels weird using Chemical Nutes after using Bio Bizz for so long,
it's gonna be interesting seeing what differences (if any) there are between the 2

Day 34 of 12/12

Day 34 of 12/12

Hi KBK,
hopefully it does turn out a good hybrid man, i tasted the Uk Cheese for the 1st time last week,
really is an awesome smoke,
i've heard folk saying it's not potent,
well it's been getting me really high, taste is superb, musky, fruity, almost wheat taste like suger puffs or shredded wheat, high creeps up a little bit, stinks your whole house out,
great high, feel re-freshed in the morning even after a heavy smoke sesh the night before,
definately right up there with the best smokes i've tried so far :joint:

peace bro

NL#5xHaze plant #2 is alot taller then the previous one #7, really wild growing girl, true NL5/H girl, alot bigger than the last 1 i grew at the start of the year as well, thankfully it's nearing the end of the stretch period, growing like a pure sativa so far with long branching, you can see in the pics i've had to double train it both ways in a sort of 'S' shape (using 2 Bamboo's to create the shape), really wild growth, around 6 foot tall even after all the training she's had :joint:,
last feeding this pheno recieved 1.5ml/l of each Sensi A+B and 1.2ml/l Carboload
