Sounds like the same ph meter i got lol. they will let you keep swapping them out dude. is it the red one?

Yep the little red octagon looking thing. Took it back today and it turns out both the probe and the meter were messed up... Go figure. New one was tested and calibrated at the shop. Gonna go play with it now

Haha so I just had some fun with my pH meter. First I transplanted into the new happy frog, and upped the containers. The two big uns now sit in two gallons and the little ones are in the smaller tan buckets (not sure on the size).

Watered with plain water pH going in was 6.49. Checked the runoff and came out at 6.61. :jump: I'll probably start the earth juice nutes the next watering depending on how they are looking. I'm ready to get this grow taking off. Hopefully soon I can snap some cuttings and sex the little buggers...

Snapped some pics too....

Big difference in the way they look only after a couple of days. They will take off real quick now that the ph is correct.

Well just got home after two days of being away, and checked on my little uns. They are looking fantastic. Number 1 has a nice lower shoot, I plan on cloning either later today or tomorrow. The rest I'm still waiting for some lower branches to get bigger before I start cutting clones. The two biggest (1,2) have little pre-flowers appearing on some of the middle nodes, but I can't tell one way or the other yet. I'll let the clones decide who stays and who goes.

Time to go water and cut off a new number 1.

Heres some pics to keep you guys company (which may very well just be me and chubbynugs).

Comments, critiques, criticisms, praises, and hell any sort of chatter is more than welcome.

Looking awesome! I also am using a 250w and had a quick questions for ya. I am planning on scroging 3 of my plants out of 5 and my question for you is topping my plants be the best bet for scrog with a 250? Also how do you do it without damaging your plants and when should I top them?

Hey Doug Marsh! Thanks for stopping by. I'll do what I can to help out. If you look at my second plant, that was the older one I topped. It was on its fifth node when I topped it. I never top before the fourth node, cause the plants are just so tiny. I love to top, just cause it lets all the secondary branches shoot out like its nobody's business. But you're still cutting off a growth tip, so there will be some stress and injury to the plant. It's a good thing MJ is a hardy little fellow. Assume a couple days to get its shit together and wear off the shock before you see an explosion of secondary growth.

As for the scrog, I've never done one, so this is purely logical reasoning on my part. But the way I see it is, in a scrog, most of the undergrowth amounts to nothing. If some of those branches are going to be cut and not produce anyway, why put the un-needed stress on the plant in order to top it? Let it grow straight up and into the screen, when it makes it above, just tuck it back down and try to keep the growth horizontal. That's just my $.02 and it could be completely off considering I've never grown scrog style before.

I've grown using LST many times and almost always incorporate LST and topping together.

Best of luck to ya and hope I helped a little...

Cheers.

Well I haven't been able to upload pics the last couple days for some reason...

But here they are again, growing for a week now and are looking quite pretty. I'm seeing some preflowers and unfortunately am 90% sure my first biggest is a male. Surprise surprise. Good news though, I am 100% sure that number 4 is a female. She has sexy little pistils but they are too small to get a good shot of.

Here's what I've done to them since the last update. #1 was re-potted to a god only knows how big of a bucket.s It's the big ass tan one. #2 started a little dosage of LST and has been doing quite nicely. #3 is simply starved for attention. As soon as I get a definitive answer about #1's sex, hopefully #3 will be able to jump in there and get some better light and re-potted. (S)he is super rootbound, but theres no more room for her right now! #4 was re-potted to the 2 gallon bucket and has shot up since. My only determined female so far.

Now onto some pics...

Upon further inspection and after checking out all new preflowers, I've yanked #1. Ended up re-potting #2 into #1's pot and put #3 into #2's pot. I gotta say, my box looks much less cramped and everyone seems to be a little happier.

I also see a female-ish looking preflower on #3, just without the pistils yet. So hopefully she shows me some hairs and am still waiting on something from #2.

Also took 3 clones from #4, so I'm on my way to getting a good set of girls to get this thing going perpetually.

Cheers.

Time for the happy dance everyone :jump:

Another female for the books. I caught a glimpse of two little hairs shooting out on #3.

All the plants are sexed now. 2 males (#1,#2) and 2 females (#3,#4). Both the males are pulled and outta there already. The two girls are sitting in 2 gallon pots under were flipped onto 12/12 yesterday.

Clones still don't have roots... Waiting patiently.

Heres the pix

thanks chubbynugs. lets hope i don't mess anything up that prevents them from turnin' into monsters.

They're startin' the stretch already. Along with that I found some yellow spotting on some of #3's leaves. It is either Ca def. or is a pH problem. I've been watering with my solution around 5.8 just because those earth juice nutes bring the ph down a whole lot. Finally got some pH up yesterday. Last watering, I dimmed down the nutes and got the solution to 6.4 when I watered, but never checked the runoff :bashhead: . Lemme know what you guys think...

The spotting in HPS light (prob isn't going to do shit for diagnosis haha)

Here is one of the leaves outside of the box...

The spotting is only on the middle set of leaves. The older ones seem unaffected while the new ones are putting out new growth like nobody's business.

Thanks for any help,

Cheers

I had posted a thread in sick plants, cause my journal doesn't seem to get a lotta traffic. Mynamestitch ended up coming to my rescue and said I should be leaving the nute solution out, cause the pH will change overnight.

So I did that....

So I let my water sit out all night with the nutes in it, and the pH went from 4.0 to around 4.7. I couldn't water with just that today, so I added some more of my pH up :spank:

I got the water to 6.24 with nutes and went ahead and watered the two sexy ladies. Run-off came off at 6.82 for the plant with the spotting and 6.99 for the plant with no spotting. I normally water with a pH of around 5.6, so I need to find a happy medium to get my soil pH back around 6.5. I will update if the girl happens to get any better or any worse. All her new growth looks luscious for now.

Cheers.

Hi CC, nice grow journey.
i have the similar set up as you and i have 2 GH bigbang,2 hashberries and one nirvana
white rhino in current grow.

25053cab_open-med.JPG

i'va put one hashberry, one GH bigbang and nirvana
white rhino in 4 gal pots and put them into 12/12 at Dec,7th,one week later than u did.

I lsted them too.

i also use fluo for veg and clone room, but the temp rise in the veg and clone room is 10degF than the ambient temp, that's too much i think.then temp rise in flower room is only 5degF with air cool hood.

there are 4 2" 24W T5 in each veg and clone room.

Do u have better cure for this?

Thanks
