Here's a peek inside the growbox. I got a cutting from a succulent plant from a friend that snuck inside.

Here's my two Thai Lights that are doing the best of the bunch.

Shiskaberry on the left and LUI on the right.

My two Thai light seedlings and 1 LUI with a Shiska in the beercup.

Overall the larger plants are doing well. I just gave them thier first feeding with Fish Ferts. There is bloodmeal and bonemeal in the soil mix.

The seedlings were doing really well and then they looked a bit light stressed or hungy so i dropped them down a bit and gave them a feeding with fish ferts. There's no nutes in the seedling mix so that should help them along.

The LUI seedling is a mutant and the Shiskaberry isn't developing but is still alive. These guys are going to get chucked as the other plants need space.

I think the MG starter isn't that bad. It seems to be just peatmoss ground fine and well screened. I'll give it an A for having an nice texture and being clean. It needs cutting with perlite for drainage an I'd toss in a bit of d-llime for pH buffering. It doesn't have any real nutrient value and the seedlings started looking hungry on the first watering which I missed. Usually MG burns the shit out your plants which is a pleasant change.

Hey Joey, the LUI is Legends Ultimate Indica. Very nice plant. Have you seen Bonsai Grower's LUI's? Drool....

Hey Red, I just wanted to say that I have been a fan ever since I first seen your Rubbermaid on here(does that make you a "maid" man?). I noticed that you where getting the same problem as almost everyone else has w/MG potting soil. Well, if it hasn't hit the trash bin yet, there is still hope for it-just flush it like you had just poured full strength nutes into you favorite girls pot. I had to use it this winter(same deal here winter=no good potting soil around), and had zero problems(from the dirt). Also, I was flowering w/just a 150w for my first couple batches through, and finally added four 23w CFL's to the mix. It made all the difference in the world(pulled at least 40% more ever since, but some of that is just dialing other stuff in). It made the buds tighter, a better leaf to bud ratio, and I had never seen as many trichs on my strain before that. I just thought that I would throw that out there for you, since you started to experment with adjusting the HPS spectrum w/CFL's.

I repotted into 6" pots today.

Here's a Thai-Light on the left and a Shiskaberry on the right.

The other Thai-Light on the left with a LUI on the right.

The seedlings needed the fish ferts and have some noticeble growth today. I put the struggling shiskaberry back into a yogurt cup. It had no root developement at all, just a tap root and a little puff.

At this point in the game I'm going to flip to 12/12 later on this week. I want to get the seedlings into a beercup soon. I'm curious to see how they will do being pushed into 12/12 early.

Hey Toastfighter2, welcome to the Lodge.

I think we're on the same page with the mixed spectrum lighting. As a CFL grower with one HPS grow under my belt, I was pleased with the yeild of the HPS. The buds grew nice but the development of the fan leaves and vegetation were stalled. I couldn't believe how sparse the plant was compared to the CFL grows where there's leaves everywhere and healthy looking too. I really gotta get that Mogul socket replaced and my HPS running soon if I'm gonna go to 12/12.

hell yah dude. my fav 2 r the Shiskaberry and the on the right.
they look yummy as ever. I like the way LUi is growing.

6 of the LUI's and 5 of the Shiskaberry's and 3 of the thai-light in my cab would rock my world.
but I am still kinda happy with what I got going.

anyway good luck on getting a great harvest. laters gaters.

Dahmm, Red - you aint-a-kidding, early is the understatement of the year!!! You really got them truckin' along now!

Are you flipping them for good, or just to sex them?

Hey, thanks for your help on my project, your advice seems to be paying-off!!

#1Cheesebuds, grab a beer and pull up a chair. Hopefully the Thai's and LUI's won't dissapoint.

Hey I2KanGrow, I'm happy things are turning out for you. Your plants are growing like weeds with the hydro now.

Yep, I'm going to flip to 12/12 a lot earlier on this grow. Normally I veg 2 plants into 2 gal pots which takes a little over a month. This time I want to grow some lollipops in small 6" pots. Once I go 12/12 it's all the way through. Only newbies try to return to veg and get the plants stuck in LaLa land between veg and flower.

My strategy is like this. I have room for Eight 6" pots so if I sex out a males, the nicest plants will go into an 8" pot. I'll LST her to make use of the space. I've seen enough 12/12 from seed grow's so the seedlings will be fine, just behind a bit.

Right now the plants in the 6" pots look almost good to go to 12/12.

Here's my Thai-Lights.

The LUI is doing great.

Here's the Shiskaberry.

P1020119_Medium_.JPG

My seedlings have been repotted and are taking off finally. The two TL are growing normally. I'm not sure if the LUI mutant will put out normal leaves.

Here's a closeup of the little Shiskaberry mutant. I repotted back to a little yoghurt cup so it could get some roots going. There are no roots on this little bugger so it's growing very tight nodes.

I just gave the larger plants a good feeding of AN Sensi Grow mixed to 800ppm using the lable directions. They seemed to like it alot and have really changed in the last two days. I'm seeing some lower shoots taking off and could take cuttings within the week. I think some of my problems with the seedlings is that I've been very light handed with the nutes since getting burned with the MG soil.

Hey Bongasaurus. Great to see you back in the Lodge. Grab a beer and pull up a chair.

I installed the 42W CFL's today and set my timer for 12/12.
We're in flowering mode now...

I'm moving my thermometer around just to see if everthing is ok. The exhaust temps are 30C and the growchamber is 23C with an ambient temp of 21C. I moved the growbox down the basement again.

Bongosaurus - I'm hoping for the TL to be special. Dr. Atomic has some wicked genetics. I'm also hoping for the LUI to turn out to be a girl.

I see I'm getting some interest in the Shiskaberry. My LUI and TL seeds were puny and I had a hard time getting them going last time. The Shiska S1 and DutchTreat S1 for were just for backups. I still have some of the original Cash Crop Ken Dutch Treat x Shiskaberry seeds on hand. They'll probably be in the lineup for the next grow.

Busy night tonight in the Lodge!

I repotted the three seedlings into 6" pots. They will be fighting for light pretty soon as the big plants are filling out. I'll be dropping my shelf down very soon cause the biggest TL is touching the glass.

I came home tonight to find the laundry room skunky smelling so I did a sealed up a couple of potential leaks and did a bit of work on my carbon scrubber. I have this cold air intake grill with filters. The filter only had a little bit of carbon. All I did was spray some contact adhesive and shake on a bit of carbon. Tonight I added a good 1/4" layer and covered it with another sheet of filter material.

And I mixed up a batch of AN Sensi Bloom to 800ppm which the bigger plants are going to get on the next watering. I also figured out the dosage for Big Bud which I'm trying for the first time.

The directions say 1 tsp = 7grams 0.5g per litre = 300 ppm

What I'm doing is mixing 1 tsp (5ml) to 140 ml of water to make a solution of 0.5g / 10 ml

My blooming nutes will be a 1100 ppm solution of 800ppm Sensi Bloom and 300ppm of Big Bud. I'll add the Big Bud when the buds start to develop.

Lookin' good Red! I bet you'll have your grow completed well before mine - and I started a month earlier then you!

My ppms jumped-up from 1200 (the level that I've been adding at) to 1500, so I think need to back-off on the fert-water (added plain water today - no ferts). I believe my girls are telling me that I've been feeding them too much, but at least they're not burning-up, like my 1st rubbermaid grow. pH remains constant @ 5.5 - 5.75, so life still seems quite good in hydro-world!

I thought my grow was dragging because of the early problems with the seedlings. That cost me about two weeks. I'm only in day 3 of flowering so there's still a month and half to go.

So how do you like the hydro so far? Are you doing a simple dwc where you top off the water until you've added 1/2 the res volume then dump or are your trying to maintain a constant ppm?

I've got to start monitoring pH soon. I was using it as an indicator to the nute concentration in the soil. If the pH of the runoff of the last watering was the same or higher I'd feed. When the pH would drop, I'd water.
