Do you remember which specific issue of High Times had the photos of the "Arizona Canyon Rim Weed" in the issue photo that talks about "R"s Annual Connoiseur awards, the first photo with the 11 bud shots that are contenders for the award?
My buds are #5, which in the article are correctly named as "Arizona "Ma Jag" Canyon Rim Weed".
I have almost every High Times issue from start to approximately 1985. I appreciate your help. otherwise I'll just start combing through 1979-1980 issues.

I grew up close to there and the older farmers would talk about being given seeds to grow fields like that for the war. County extension agents would come around after harvest to assist in burning the leftovers. They were instructed to stay out of the smoke but some of them invariably inhaled a lot of smoke and reported it got them high.

If ya have Dec `76 HTimes on pg136 theres a pic of 2 state boys and a 1 of the garbage bags of long stalked herb from the trunk...90lbs nabbed in Pueblo Arizona but noted as came from a field in Kansas....yup...Im sure it did....heh...
I should take a few more pics...some really good old pics of what ppl now a days prob would scoff at....Guess I should check my mags cause they do stink like,,,umm..herb and storage mold..heh...
Ok first 3 pics are from the Hawaiian special...forget the yr...next is the flowering and pics from Sinsemilla book..for those who wanted to see plants growing..gat dig the into from D Crosby...enjoy

Great thread and a good read. Brings back good memories from the passed. So many years of cannabis growers going underground really has change the phenotypes of the herb.
