Hey Chief, you can also apply the neem through the roots in a soil drench and it will become systemic. I have also had luck with skim milk as a foliar but after a while if you dont use a fresh water foliar the milk will dry up and look like pm itself lol

Great tips bcmaster! I'm always willing to try new things. This round I wanted to be as easy as possible on my microbeasties in my soil. It appears that my pm has been defeated for the meantime, but is the battle ever over?...

For now the count is Chief 1 PM 0

Eagle20 is the stuff to get if PM is a problem, i would only use it on plants in veg with a while to go before flowering.....amazing stuff that will get rid of the problem for sure.

umm.....Eagle20 is perhaps amazing, and also very toxic. I wouldn't consider any bud that had that used on it to be medical grade. Clearly this thread/garden would not support that type of product.

The lady speaks the truth! Thanks for your help though true! I do appreciate the input. keep it coming...

That eagle20 causes cancer, infertility, birth defects, mutations, super toxic to aquatic life and systemic effects on the liver, kidney, testes and lungs.. fun stuff! haha That's about as toxic as it gets.

I'm slowlyyy developing my own set of "growing morals" Which includes.. If I can't do it naturally, I won't do it all... but I am nowhere near perfect.

I'm excited to be starting a Plant Growth and Soils class this spring. I can't wait to share some of my upcoming studies.... :yay: Which will be more entertaining than all the plant id courses I've had to take. Which covered the ever exciting topics like taxonomy/botanical nomenclature/hard to remember latin words. useful but challenging. I'm 95% complete and in under a year I hope to be certified. woot woot. I still have so much information piled up to process. The more I study the less and less I know...

Course Topics Include:

- Fertilizers: Terminology, formulations, applications, sources, guidelines and economics.

- Soil Water: Water cycle, soil moisture, water management and water erosion.
- Testing Plant Tissue, Soil and Water: Soil and plant tissue tests, nutrient interaction and water quality.
- Soil Life and Organic Matter
- Nutrient Transformations of the Three Major Macronutrients: Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
- Physical Soil Properties: Soil texture, structure, bulk density, porosity, temperature and colour.
- Composting: Requirements, materials, methods, indicators and problems.
- Soil Chemistry: pH, colloids, cation exchange and buffer capacity.
- Soil Fertility: Soil fertility vs. productivity; sources of nutrients, essential nutrients and plant absorption.
- Plant Nutrients Sources, Functions and Deficiency/Toxicity Symptoms: Macronutrients and micronutrients.
- Soil Formation and Classification: Sources of parent material, weathering and soil profiles.
- Media, Container Production and Hydroponics: Ingredients, mixes, pasteurizing and hydroponics.

yyou make me want to audit classes in my free time.

you studies look so interesting...

i am a little older than other on this forum. i wish i had known a little more about myself before i had gone to college. i wouldnt have studied finance and would have chose a differnt path all together...

very cool stuff

I chose to study business as well at first... then less than a decade later. lost in a world the held no meaning to me, I finally packed it up and chose the path of plants and snowboarding. Money doesn't make me happy and I don't pursue it. living and growing is the essence of a perfect life. you're never too old to start on a new path. one step leads to another.

BREAKING NEWS - clone update!!!

BREAKING NEWS - clone update!!!

BREAKING NEWS!!!

Today as I was cruising around on my snowboard taking advantage of the sunny day and short lift lines. It was a perfect day to crank the tunes and ride. I was taking a short break in the middle of an epic tree run to catch breath and process all the fun. Then out of seemingly thin air a figure appeared beside me. I was kind of stunned for a second but as my anxiety cleared, I realized it was my mystical donator of the mystery clones.

Before I had a chance to speak they told me that I had failed at successfully guessing 2 of the mystery clones...

The two cuts that I thought were Sweet Skunk and Pure Kush are wrong...

The SS is another plant and there is no pure kush!!! they are challenging/tricking/mentoring me into taking each plant on its own merit, without making judgements based on silly names. They never gave anymore clues other than it will be very apparent by when all comes to fruition.

and with a twinkle and sparkle in their eyes they were gone without a trace as mysteriously as they first appeared.

So this is where we stand now:

WHITE mystery clone: ? good yielding, faint berry smell
Blue mystery clone: ? reeks of sweet blueberry bubblegum
Red mystery clone: ? vigorous sat dom hybrid, high yielding
Pink mystery clone: ? very strong smelling kushie smell

2x 9 week and 2x 11 week

and the plot thickens.... :artist: We won't have long to wait for results...

Wow! Well I'm secretly glad its not the pk.... so leggy and not an easy trim. Very cool happening today chief! It has been one of those days... lots of spirit animals appearing for folks today... and now spirit people! hehe Sounds like you're on the right trail (pun intended) regardless of guessing the names yet or not! InJoy the rest of your day :)

I couldn't find any Dyna gro protekt at the B&M shop, but they had some grotek pro-silicate so I will try it out and see how it goes. Can't wait to see how my plants like the added potassium and silicon. Be warned you must add products like these to your nute regime first. Due to its open molecule strusture it has the tendency to lock-out other nutrients. This product also works as a strong ph up and can be used as a foliar spray to adjust the pH of the leaf surfaces. beneficial against pm infections.

prosilicat_l.jpg

Pro-Silicate™
Provides additional silicon and potash
NPK: 0-0-3
Available in: 1 L / 4 L / 10 L
Potassium is an essential element to forming plant structure. Pro-Silicate™ is a potassium silicate solution which can provide potassium as an essential plant element. This product can also provide a means of elevated pH with its alkalinity. It is best to add this product prior to adding nutrients in your reservoir, or, pre-dilute it prior to application if it will be mixed in after nutrients. Pro-Silicate can also be used to modify the pH in a foliar spray.

Directions for use:
SHAKE WELL
before using. Never add Pro-Silicate to a nutrient concentrate, add only to the final nutrient solution. Adjust pH levels to 5.8 - 6.8 depending on crop requirements.
Hydroponics: Mix 5 ml of Pro-Silicate per 4 L (1 tsp / 1 gal) of nutrient solution.
Soil/Soilless Applications: Mix 1.5 - 2.5 ml of Pro-Silicate per 4 L (1/4 - 1/2 tsp/1 gal) of water with every watering.

Photo Update

Photo Update

Finalllyyy, I tracked down a new memory card for my camera. photo update time!

The replacement part for my RO system took a while to get here so my ladies having been starving for some good H20. I've let them totally dry out twice in the last 2 weeks without a proper fertilizing, which caused some leaf drop and other deficiencies (slight N and P def). Which aint no sweat it seems. I'm brewing a new super tea as we speak.

*note: I'm liking the pro-silicate a lot. before I had to adjust my pH up using nasty baking soda after my nute regime, now it is perfect every time due to pro-silicates high alkalinity.

The Ever Evolving Mystery Clone Profiles
For those just catching up... all the species are still a mystery
* I'm not the best a describing these smells. most of them are indescribably awesome.

PINK: Crown like appearance to the flowers, tight flower formation
Smells: Very sweet "OG" smell, kind of fuely and incredibly strong

RED: Long and stacked flowering sites, skinny sat dom leaves, very very resinous
Smells: Sweet Licorice hazeyskunk fruit - hard to figure out. totally out of this world!!!

White: Super Resinous
Smells: hard one too ! - wiffs of bluebberry, pine, hashplanty, eraser? chemmy and fruit

BLUE: small bush like. lower yielding
SMELL: HOLY MMOLY the absolute strongest species I have ever had the pleasure to smell. Very very strong and very sweet. It smells like a rich bubblegum cleaner. Like someone created a blueberry bubblegum shampoo for kids and you stuck your nose right in the bottle.. trust me.. if that doesn't read awesome.. I assure you it is...

"You're my boy (girl) BLUE"

"You're my boy (girl) BLUE"

I thought I would share a couple photos and info on the Mystery BLUE clone.

Today marks week 5 for this lovely specimen. I have an assumption that this will be one of the early finishing species. but my assumptions have been wrong so far... So I won't hold my breath.

Starting now until harvest, is when each will start showing their tell-tale signs. As of now, I'm super excited for the opportunity to grow these cuts. Its nice to be able to grow them on their face value, without any unneeded reputations. Then my next rounds with these beasts will get only better and better. Infinity and beyond :whee:
attachment.php

Current Mystery Species "Blue" Profile:
BLUE: small bush like. slower vegger out of the pack. not as easy to clone. A little picky on nutes.

That's all for now! I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the new week!

Well a couple things to update:

1. I'm feeling pretty silly that I thought the mystery red clone was Sweet Skunk. Now that the plant has had some time to mature I am seeing some tell tale signs of another fantastic breed. I almost don't want to be say a thing, for the chance that I'm wrong again, but I have no shame :p I think I'll just wait and see if anyone else figures out the clues.

Current RED Profile: Long and stacked flowering sites, skinny sat dom leaves, very very resinous
Smells: Sweet Licorice hazeyskunk fruit - hard to figure out. totally out of this world!!!
new clue: most likely one of the two 11 week species

attachment.php

2. I had to buy a carbon filter for my small 2x4 veg tent because these ladies are stanky... they stink so good... Can filter 9000 and 6" suncourt inline fan to the rescue :woohoo:
*BTW My next investment are some new t5 lights. I currently only have a double strip of cool white t8's and 2x 23w sunblaster 6400k ionizing cfls.

3. The Pink Mystery clone is doing its best imitation of a crystal castle. fully decked out with magic spells and resin moats :help:
PINK: Crown like appearance to the flowers, tight flower formation
Smells: Very sweet fresh "OG" smell, kind of fuely and incredibly strong - looks and smells like MK Ultra without the deep vibrant green leaves from the G13

Further learning

Further learning

As my knowledge and experience grows I'm slowly grasping more and more of the puzzle. In the last couple days I have been taking a further dive in NATURAL systems (I don't like using the term organic).

I have been trying to understand brewed teas a little further and I've found a couple of helpful links to help further EVERYONE'S studies.

I personally had the concept of what I wanted to do with teas totally wrong. I was using it as a nutrient supplement; when I should have been focusing on using it as a way too boost the microbeasties in my soil, to then boost the "break-down" of raw nutrients in the soil. So my plants have more available processed nutes to uptake. I was also using foam as an indicator of microbial action and that was way wrong too.. oh how I love learning.. You can still make a "nutrient tea" if you wanted to add valuable nutrients, but I am trying to reduce the amount of nutrients I pour over the plants.
:blowbubbles:

Microbeman here on icmag has his sh** on lock-down. A treasure of knowledge and experience. Most of these links are his or he had his hands all over them.

During my next Soils class I want to try my best to design a new soil recipe and standard operating procedures. So I can have all or most of my nutes in my recycled soil; so all I have to do is turn on my Aerated Compost brewer (ACT) and incubate more beneficial bacteria and fungi by making a tea only out of EWC's for seedlings and for Veg through to Flower I would use EWC's, mushroom compost, and kelp + Raw Blue Agave -or- Molasses.

Then I can just have a KINGDOM of microbeasties working for the plant 24 hrs a day :groupwave: and all I have to do is sit back and supply the purest water possible.

* A nice benefit of letting nature work for you is that I don't have to produce different nutrient regimes for my perpetual system with plants at different stages of growth.

I am always trying to remember.. K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stoner :canabis:

looking good, man. how do u like that sentinel lighting controller stuff> quality?

Like it a lot. Its easy to expand and the hightemp shutdown and digital timer make it so worth it.

There was only once when I went in to the room and the time was off by an hour, which was weird considering the battery back-up. Haven't seen any anomalies since.
