300w Giant CFL Grow

Hey everyone things are looking good in the tent so here is an update. I flipped the lights to 12/12 5 weeks ago today! The cheese started flowering very fast and I have never seen anything so vigorous with growth she is a sativa pheno. The kalashnikova has really been weird and showing stress all the time I could not feed her ant nutrients, I gave her first feed a couple of days after the flip and she responded badly and the leaves looked black only now she is looking better the blue dream and northern lights were very small when the flip was done and they seemed to grow and stretch up all the way and then begin flowering, where the more mature plants stretched with flowering. The cheese has nearly drank all bio bizz but they were only the 250ml bottles but I am still shocked because I was following this OT1s bio bizz schedule which is supposed to be awesome, but it did not touch the cheese she had big nitrogen deficiency and I have a big pile of yellow dead leaves here that fell off, I doubled that guys measurements and she went wild! Now she is fox tailing like crazy and damn frosty!

Hey Jonny, nice to have you here! Thanks and I will not ever be using cfl for vege again! And I would not recommend it unless they are clones or a mother.

I just checked out your plants and they are looking really happy, great job! I did not want to use any training techniques on the auto flower because they can not be stressed. I done LST, fim'd and then toped my cheese and kalashnikova. Here is a pic of my cheese from a few days ago, I am doing a full update tomorrow at 5 weeks

Yeas both on week 5 but I decided to harvest my cheese today only because she was so impressive and I need some herb, I could not imagine what she would have been like if I took her all the way to day 80?! I am gutted I did not take cuttings because now I have lost this pheno! Never seen anything so vigorous!!

No probelm and don't worry ill be watching your grow too bud.

With cfl's I would stick to growing any of the shorter/squatter lower light indicas like GSC, bubbas or most purple strains . try to stay away from sativa dominate plants. Gsc I would assume would love the cfl's and get really frosty

Hey ganzas, you are right bud she did need a few more weeks but I needed some herb and she looked So impressive for 5 weeks from the flip. I have read about this sativa leaning pheno and people have taken it to 85 days to get real ripe! Thanks bud!

Hey Mr R, thank you for the advice I appreciate it! The cheese I cut and plants I still have flowering are now under a 600w hps. I purchased one to flower my plants because the light coverage in a 4x4 was terrible with 300w of cfl! Personally I will never use cfl again... Not evan for vege!

Can you please clarify GSC I am unfamiliar with this strain?

That would be Girl Scout Cookies. I had the pleasure of tasting some a few months ago. I gets really really frosty.

Congrats on your harvest. I know it's hard to wait out the extra few weeks, but you would probably be happier about the smoke if you did. My last plant I cut down at least 2 weeks earlier than I should have and even after a proper cure it never lost the planty taste, but it still got me high and it tasted better than a lot of shit I've bought before. I hope you are enjoying a little smoke out of it and feeling good.

I've been doing the cfls for a year now. I'm on my third flower, just one plant. The cfl's just seem to make everything take longer. I would like to make the switch to HPS too. I just need to figure out how I will ventilate the extra heat.

Hey NSC, ah the girl scout cookies, I was thinking of running that on my next grow or super lemon haze which I smoked a few years back and it was amazing!
Thanks yeas I should have waited another few weeks but oh well I have noticed a grass like smell that is not leaving? I began curing/sweating smaller buds the other day and they still have a strange smell? I am also having trouble with curing, the buds do not seem to be sweating anymore but are very dense and wet and sticky on the inside? The moisture that is currently still within the nuggz dose is not escaping, am I taking them out of curing too early?

I can imagine cfl is handy in a small little grow it done well in my little room but when I bought the 4x4 the light did not touch it so I had to purchase a hps which was amazing and I fully recommend. You can get 70w hps I seen one on ebay a month ago when purchasing mine or you could evan get a 150w hps how big is your space?

If you're RH is around 65% then that is honestly a little wet to smoke well IME. When I dip in the jar I grab out what I think I will smoke for a couple days. After an hour or so out of the jar they smoke better but by the end of the night they smoke good.

I know about the grassy smell lol. I think every grower has chopped early at some point (usually one of their first few grows), and experienced that grassy goodness lol. It is inspiration enough to always let your plant go 2 more weeks =P

My space is about 1.5x2x2.5, not very big but I also only have one female. I have thought about the 70w HPS's and supplementing with cfls. I would rather figure out some ducting and run a 250w instead. I don't know its all in the future. I will work with what I have until then and the cfls work ok, just have to add 2 or 3 weeks to the flowering time.

Am about to start looking into a CFL grow as cheaper for me for electricity, i only have an issue cause i live literately 5 min from the beach and that breeze is nippy almost all year around. Atlantic ocean tings

Congrats bro on a really solid looking grow. Amazing setup too. I've been lucky enough to pick up some cheese a couple years ago and it was some of the best stuff I've ever smoked.

I'm about to start up again...hoping for more consistency this time around....looks like you've got it down man.

Hey everyone, sorry I have not been updating frequently! I made the chop last week, the Gigabud, NLxBB and bluedream.
Here are some pics, I did not yeild much, the NLxBB and bluedream ony had about two weeks vege. The main head cola to the NLxBB got bud rott on the inside, and half the main cola turned yellow, I don't know weather it was high humididty or something else?
