aaaaand we're back!

just waiting for a space to open up that the 2x4 grassroots fabric bed would fit and two trips to home despot later for pvc (because i'm really bad at math) the bed is built and in place so time to start re-amending the soil from the first round...

a bewildering and expensive array of products....good thing i work at a grow shop and thus get a tasty discount...

IMG_20250225_121000074_HDR.jpg

so we have colorado worm castings co. an old bag from the shop, dried out, rice hulls,pumice,bio-char,craft blend, ocean blend, gypsum, oyster shell flour, dolomite lime,agsil16h,and big 6. along with bu's blend and oly mountain compost. from gaia green insect frass and basalt rock dust. and bio-fish from down to earth...

IMG_20250225_124006070_HDR.jpg

started by laying down around 15 gallons of the used 3.0,added the stuff, not too much of any one thing...

IMG_20250225_124015201.jpg

then started adding used 3.0 into a 30 gallon barrel and layering in the stuff, put in around 20ish gallons of 3.0 total and shook and rolled the barrel to mix...

IMG_20250225_131246532_HDR.jpg

added in the plants in #2 pots of fresh 3.0....6 gsc forum cut and 2 sour dubb s1....filled in around them and packed the soil down lightly...

and watered it in with some rootwise and enzyme elixir...

next will be ordering some fresh colorado castings with free worms and soil critters, putting in the barley straw and sowing the clover seed...

(y)🪱 just filled the 55 gallon barrel with bas/promix rootballs and added a generous portion of bu's,oly mountain, and worm castings....barely touched the collected rootballs...i'm pretty sure i can get like 20 fresh bags of 3.0 and two 4x4 fabric beds and fill them up in my main flower room...i already have two 4x4 plywood platforms with heavy duty casters and trays to match...and for that matter double layer trellis screens for 3 beds already....so considering the shop discount i can probably convert the room to three 4x4 beds and four 20 gallon smart pots for around a 1000 bux total...and have enough soil for potting the plants along the way to flower...

Hey fish these fabric beds, are they sitting on a tray or something? I'm just trying to figure out where they drain.
nope,just the tent liner
Now that's bad ass. Awesome Unc, I can't wait to see the buds that come out of this. The soil cooking in the barrel sounds like it will be even better. Nice
fingers and 20 bags of stuff crossed!
How is the clover coming along? Has it covered your bed?
not in yet, still need to order worms

Straight into the tent.. huh... Well here's a picture of a big truck, when you get a little older and both your knees are blown out this is so you, maybe purple, but so going to be you.

yeah,a tray doesn't fit in the tent, otherwise i would have put a 2x4 in there first...and my penis is waaaay to big to drive a truck like that!
So with this bed are you going to make it a living soil?
the bed is filled with once used build a soil 3.0 re-amended

🪱🪱🪱🪱🪱🪱🪱🪱🪱worms ordered!

they definitely filled in and grew in the past couple of weeks, just water to wet the mix and they got water and microbe lift to hopefully kill of any fungus gnat larvae....not seeing any yet...

pruned and took cuts, top dressed with a little craft blend and some build a flower as well as sowed the clover seeds, tomorrow i'll water as i'm expecting 100 red wigglers, once there in place i'll mulch with barley straw,pre-charged with rootwise

Sexy pics... living soil fabric bed, living soil, mulch, worms, and, oh yeah...plants.

So, with a run of living soil under your belt, how does it compare in terms of quality and yield, ease of growth, and maintenance compared to your normal

quality was phenomenal, yield about the same really...the growth was explosive, the plants all super healthy, super easy to take care of,just teas every other week, but basically just water with a tiny bit of big bloom so the ppm wasn't near zero...

the bad part, friggin fungus gnats...the microbe lift i've been using keeps them way down but never completely gone...nemetodes next on the order list...

so yeah, grabbing a 3x3 bed tomorrow, and i'll convert my main flower room to 4x4's and some 20 gallon smart pots in the last quadrant...

also i got a 25% bump in price on the bas bud....so there's that
