The temperature is crucial. Gentle warming. Not too hot. I just had 100% germination on properly stored seeds that were 21+ years old. I was lucky this time. The seeds were moved twice and exposed to warmth twice last year. I think that may have helped and I hope the move did not harm anything.If I'm trying to sprout old seeds I'll go about 20% of hydrogen peroxide and sparkling water mixed with tap water. Keeps temps no less than 80° I shoot for 85-90°. Best chance of any but I've never had good luck with seeds any older that 10 yrs unless they were stored in freezer and never messed with
