I’ll take your word for it mate. I’m definitely not Thai stick trained. The high isn’t what I experienced with the joint in Bangkok sold as Thai stick, that was like micro dosing acid. This “Thai stick” high is pleasant for sure really clean, not like lsd.
It smells very very good that feeling you get when smelling leather and eucalyptus.
I will try to talk more to the friendly person about his Thai source maybe he can get another type of Thai.
One observation;
right after my purchase the next in line went for the deal buy 3 grms get 1 free 1000baht for “extreme potent hybrid”… so the market is really asking for these hybrids.

The one you got in joint form in Bangkok fits the bill in both how you described the smell and taste and the high. So that tells us It's still around and can be found, that is a huge positive and my guess is that it was being sold in joints as old school Thai compared to modern lines looks like complete shit.

How long lasts the high of that Chumphon thai flower you got in Koh Phayam? How big is the spliff and how many tokes you need to get high from it?
I got this one today Gorilla Punch brick. Young Thai people buy this quite a lot, the thai guy coming after me bought 2 of this. I like the vibe of these dispensaries that cater to thai people. The other new dispensary that promised thai stick was closed,
Today I saw a thai guy chop the flower super old school, he does it with a big knife and chops it like parsley. They chop hybrid flowers like this
Great to see some members in Thailand. Have any of you gone somewhere off the beaten track, a bit more remote to look for more traditional weed?
Everything I'm reading is mixed which is to be expected. I know the traditional varieties exist in Laos, and I've no doubt still in Thailand, somewhere. A tourist could easily spend weeks in my country, smoke the commercial hybrids, and conclude theres no pure sativas in Australia. How wrong they'd be.

on a cut off log/chopping board type of deal ,
i mimicked it at home with a double blade , curved herb chopper and it worked quite well also..

Yeah Chumpom makes more sense, it’s not quite north like he said but I will have more time to talk more with the person in charge, I will try to get more info on it. It’s kinda hard to ask very detail questions the answers get lost in translation.
I will share the direction to the stall vendor in Bangkok it’s definitely worth the try;
I got it from a street vendor at this somewhat busy strip I couldn’t take pictures or anything but I can some what let you know where it is because it’s in the block where i had some amazing street food spot.
Yummy yummy is the street food spot I highly recommend it’s sooo good. On that same sidewalk less than 50 ft away from that food spot that’s where I saw the cannabis stall and vendor, very small operation had like 7 jars and a guy and a girl (Thai with almost no English) are selling there, prices where cheaper than avg and the hand roll there on the spot so they must have the Thai stick bulk to roll their joints.
That’s a Cafe, people sitting there smoking. So another point of reference. That cafe is right in front of the Thai food vendor I ate at Yummy Yummy.
That whole strip is like 2 km walk full of awesome food and stuff. I also saw one of them Green house seed co smoke shops…

The Chumpom high isn’t as strong as my first experience. I smoked a total of 3 king size OCB papers tightly packed I would say a grm joint, for me it’s a normal size. And the high builds up but has a ceiling, I couldn’t get more higher with another joint. And I had my wife take a toke (best reference of no tolerance) she felt sleepy after it… so that was a turn off. I didn’t feel the come down that hard but I found myself yawning several times.
So I would say the thought of this “Thai stick” being hybridized isn’t far off.
But it’s a great smoke, I can testify it’s a good sativa hybrid, maybe not a pure Thai trippy flower.
I would think the probability to find Thai stick is higher in Bangkok because of the amount of commerce happening.
I will keep smoking and searching.

Making me hungry with the Thai food pics. I have a good Thai restaurant close by, think I will hit it soon. Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, Pad See Ewe, Garlic Black Pepper. My usual fare. All no meat, just tofu.
Muay Thai kickboxing is exciting to watch. Lots of it on Youtube. Those guys will get hit hard and grin. After the fight all hugs and bowing and such. I tried and failed to make good Pad Thai. Not that easy to make their food like they do. For me anyways.

Yeah I think it was dropped at the local post office I should be picking it up tomorrow. I just arrived at Krabi and it’s bonkers (downtown) lol I can’t imagine Phuket. Happy to stay far far away from the mainstream scene.
Also noted increased Muslim influence here, wondering how that plays with the canna scene in the south. My take on Phayam, it seems to be run by Germans, still low key and peaceful.
Also I was told that KD resides in Koh Tao and the possibility of visiting the dude is very real, pick up his KD ko Tao, maybe I can ask him about the Thai stick… the few people I have been able to talk cannabis with really insist that the original Thai stick is no longer, there is no record of any person keeping mothers from the 70s Thai stick… so what ever is out there is a derivative of.

KD does not have any good old school Thais,
The Thai joints you scored early into your trip and the description of the high and taste you gave tells me you came across some decent old school Thai, and it was sold in joints, as Thai is not something modern stoners would say consider to have great bag appeal.
No one kept clones, and the old Thai lines were true-breeding.
KD was hybridising what he came across many years ago with Aryans super lemon Haze because of poor quality.

The good news is here; To all and everyone who wishes to order from Preempave, it works, no BS. Maximum respect for this lady and her team, because I recognize the effort it takes to grow organic and also send the flowers out in a very calculated manner. Package got to my hostel a week ago, so no fucking around with sending to any one. My order was a modest 100$ and still was processed with respect and diligence.
Make sure before you order that you either have PayPal or go direct to the bank and deposit cash like I did. Time your order with your stays, try to order at least a week im advanced.

What I respect is the transparency of the whole thing, she is not hiding her WhatsApp number, or her address, or any of her intentions. She clearly wants to visited and be public, that’s the attitude of a worthy cause.
All the flowers have different appeal, structure and wow smell… and seeds !!
So if my experience helps anyone else please I encourage to try it. Going so far up there might be out of most people’s way but she can and will deliver anywhere in Thailand.

Why I am so interested in island grown genetics is because I live in a island as well and I am very interested in genetics grown outdoors in high salinity humid environments, the gulf islands of Vancouver island (where I live) had legendary genetics adapted to this kinda environment.
They are gone now.
I just want to get my hands on genetics that have been grown for generations on islands because they have the potential to adapt faster than inland environments (my hypothesis).
I don’t mind KD having a ko Tao Thai crossed to Arjans SLH (specially if he has been cycling the same gene pool for decades).
I still have one more chance in Bangkok to go see that vendor. Search isn’t over yet
One question tho; if no clones/mothers where kept, how can we know what we are looking for? Is it just by chance? Like smoking and smoking flowers until we hit the one and hope it has seeds?
The possibility of that seed having that same phenotype/chemotype are also a lottery?? And wouldn’t my environment im Canada shape the pheno into another thing?
