When a good good dog does that, it usually means they lacked the energy that the effort to go out took.
Heidi Ho developed spondylosis and lost control of her back legs. I made her a cart for the last couple of years of her life and toward the end she was unable to use the dog door or wait for me to come home and get her in her cart.
Part of the price we paid to have such a wonderful dog in our lives.
Reading that brings back memories of all the furry friends that have touched my life in a good way. Hopefully I will get to see them again some day.

the forests around here are magical , mushrooms or not
when I first enter the forest , it’s like walking into another dimension
, the air feels different , more dense , the sounds change into a quiet hush , the trees are judging my every step on these sacred grounds which belong to Mother Earth and I feel like a guest

Do mushrooms grow easily enough where you are? I managed to start some winecaps on a pile of old chippings layered with card and straw down the garden of our old house and shiitake plugs drilled into a pile of logs.
Tried wavy caps in this house but I'm still waiting (psilocybe cyanescens), maybe this year.
The gold looks promising too, they say there's gold around here in Wales but it's too costly to extract.
We are in between 2 gold belts here... The Dolgellau Gold Belt in Snowdonia and the Dolaucothi Gold Mines in Carmarthenshire.
I'm presuming if we find a nugget here it belongs to the "crown", we don't even own the mining rights or airspace above our property here.
Owned by some rich kid born into wealth with a fancy gold hat.
