If you could pick 2 varieties for Cancer, what would they be?

I expect more than just a couple of opinions. :)

I find myself in the unenviable position of going through the Chemo thing. I could use something to help my mood for sure, and maybe something to help me relax in the evening. I really don't want any "hammer" type varieties. Maybe something more soothing in an Indica, and a nice mood lifting lifting Sativa. Any ideas? Maye be something like Blackberry Kush and some Blue Dream? I really have no idea, so could use some advice.

Thx.

Efficacy should be based on what you smoke yourself. Personally, I heard "queen Anne's revenge" is top notch for chemo/pain.

Best of luck on your journey and rehabilitation.

Best energys to you.
I might go with something crossed with original haze or a jamaican for your head as the sativa. Are you asking for seed varieties or for something you can find in a store?

That's rough times you are going through. Best of luck.

A sleep inducing Black Domina or Herijuana and a mood enhancing Bubblegum/Blueberry or AK47 maybe?

In the Netherlands the only medical weed available is Bedrocan, which is basically the indica pheno of Jack Herer. Is supposed to be good against nausea and pain during chemo (all relative ofcourse). That's what cancer patients get from the pharmacies here.

However, I think it's quite personal to most people what they prefer. Also how its grown can make a huge difference. So just try several strains available to you, untill you find the ones that suit your needs. Or if you need something stronger or more controlled go for THC oil.

If you want to grow for yourself I'd stick to the basic classics (commercial indica or hybrids), as these are easily available, overall easy to grow and usually yield well.

Seed varities. I was thinking maybe Blue Dream and Pennywise, neither available at any of the local outlets of course. :(

so sorry to hear the news Slim….wishing you all the best

tough question , so many variables to consider

no experience with cancer treatments here but I did beat back some basil cell carcinoma with full spectrum cannabis oil

also , for pain management , we used some kushes , made oil with them QWET , made pain patches with the oil and applied them to my neck….topically , it did the job , I took zero opiates

we can thank Schedule 1 of cannabis for having little to nothing on all forms of medical uses of cannabis

we are the guinea pigs

I don't have actual strain recommendations. But I would suggest something thar you truly enjoy the effects of to help keep you in good spirits. For me that would be a heady sativa. And then something that knocks me on my butt and forces me to rest.

Sorry to hear that @Slim Pickens...wishing you a speedy recovery.🙏

I can tell you with certainty that Afghaan 90 is the stuff you want. I grew out 10 seeds, 5 females.
The phenotypes are all over the place, but one thing they have in common is very high quality feel good effect. I speculate it is the lemon balm terpene, they all have this nuance in smell, to some extend. It generates a feeling of content, bliss and happiness inside. The potency is very high as well, the best plants are as potent as some OGs, for example. There is one phenotype that feels weaker, I think it has some CBD in it, which might be perfect for you. This weaker plant is something special in the smell department though, it has strong coffee/chocolate smell, it smells better than Pre98 Bubba Kush.

If you grow out all females, mix them and make some concentrate, it will be such a complex spectrum of cannabinoids, ideal for healing. Whats fantastic about this line, is the high not being narcotic. It is relaxing, but it will not crush you at all. Some phenotypes even feel stimulating...Its a strange line... a best kept secret comes to mind.

I will try to find some time to post pics soon. Anyway, hope this helps.
Good luck
