@RainerRocks It's IKEA coco and 1/2 L coke bottle. The cloth is landscapingfabric so roots will grow right through in a few days. Have used it a lot. It will have an airgap between the roots and the rez. Fair enough?

Why even bother with the fabric ..really no need.

You need a container with cover...darker the container is the better
it is at keeping algae at bay.

Cut hole in container cover big enough so roots fit thru and roots are in the water.

Do not fill container to top with water because you need the air gap like you mentioned between roots and cover of container.

Large Plastic coffee container is even good enough for a head of lettuce.

These neoprene things are what people usually use for this method
when starting. Then you can use the net cup when after it grows some and add some pebbles to support plant when it gets bigger.

You don't want it falling over when it gets bigger .

Or just make some homemade version of the neoprene and netcups.

\\// = plant leaves
---- = cover with hole
\/ air
------water level
\/
\/ = roots

-------- bottom of container

I think there has been a missunderstanding here. Or maybee one of the pics is not showing to you. The fabric is over the top of the coke bottle to keep the coco in place.
Here is the pic again and I think all the criteria you write down is in this "construction".
Not afraid to get alge, all black down the rez. Have grown with passive hydro for a few years and soil for 10y and I have a good feeling about this one.

Dudin, are you planning on keeping the plant in that container the hole grow?

Yes. Thats exactly what it is. Perhaps with a little more airgap between "pot" and rez. In the original kratky you fill and leave till harvest. I do not believe that's a good method for growing cb. My guess is that it works good with a 5-7day rez.

If it stays in my mini until harvest depends on if it's male/female. More of a test to see if it works.

Edit: DWC without air or flood/drink it up.

How many days did it take for tap root to show ?

Hello tap root.

Ok. Sorry for the inconvenience but I see em and it's the same way I post on a few other sites. It is what it is or it's nothing. Icmag is not my "home" and its to much of a hassle for me to do it any other way.

It only happens on this website for me..not a big deal.

@Bionic silly simple really. Might be a nice way to sex plants if you run a perpetual 12/12 from seed grow. Just put it in a hempy if it's a girl and let her shine. The repotting will go smoth I think. 1.5L coke would be nice to try. Got to many projects running right now.
