Hi everyone, i have started this thread to show off an interesting plant i found in my seeds.
Last year while growing out some sprouts, i noticed one seedling had unusual growth compared to the rest.
Everything looks normal until the 2nd pair of nodes which formed directly above the 1st pair of nodes instead of stretching out a bit. 3rd pair started directly above 2nd and on it went. the effect is of an extremely bushy plant, very short.
At around the 3rd week of flowering, rapid stem elongation occured . All the plants had maximum internode measurements between 120 to 150 mm.
But the strange plant had a maximum measurement of only 65mm.
Without the initial spacing between the nodes adding onto the elongation phase during flowering, the end effect is a shorter and much more manageable plant.
To see how this might be passed to more plants, i crossbred her with some Malawi x Panama F1 pollen i happened to have at the time. This cross did not produce any unusual plants, so i selected a male and bred him back to the mother and that done the trick.
The F2 produced more of the plants with the node stacking growth pattern.
This is where i am at right now. I am growing a few of these out and will attempt to make f3's that should be homozygous for this trait.
