Double Strawberry Diesel Jones

Created new thread as I didn't see any previous threads about this strain.

It was a freebie that I've received with my British Petroleum pack (highly recommend!)

I don't have veg photos as I think veg is pretty straight-forward and I tend to do FIM & LST and keep plants in small tent for 3-4 weeks in 1 pint cups. Grew using MIGRO 130W ARAY2 RED+PRO (2020 model?)

Harvested at 75 days. Very hungry plant, was drinking water and nutrients like crazy, I think this is the biggest plant in my tent during this run, 1 X-DOG I have was similar in size but I think DSDJ is bigger - dry weight will sort this out ;-)

Smell is very sweet, another person when I said "it's double strawberry" said "yeaaah, it smells like strawberry" I think my nose got blocked during harvest because of few plants I had to deal with. Anyway... hope you enjoy!

Thank you for the posts friend. Super good job and those flowers look potent as hell. I know it will make some killer dabs.

Aw man - that looks really nice! Nicely grown cheapwine!

I really want to give Connoisseur genetics a go and support local talent - and this strain might be it. Loved my old strawberry diesel and was always drooling over Casey jones back in the day.

How strong is the smell when growing and how’s the high? I’m a sativa kind of a guy who goes for positive, happy, mood boosting highs. Think this would fit?

Well done, cheapwine!
It sounds delicious!
I had a cut of Double Strawberry Diesel for many years, selected it from seeds, but lost the clone because it got sick. But it's probably still floating around town as it bacame quite popular locally.
I have also grown out one DSDJ from seed, but my plant was more on the Casey side and I was looking for Strawberry Terps, so did not keep it.
Yours look a bit more Casey like from the bud structure, but terpwise it sounds like the pheno I was looking for...I think I have to go through the rest of the pack soon;)let us know how she tastes whe she's ready!
Peace
Ace

i still have a shitload of beans from rez, back in the day- just finished a double strawberry diesel seed- previous dsd's were almost black in color, but weak- the present dsd is in a jar curing- i did try a small bud, and once again i am not encouraged ,seems to again be weak

if ojd used a rez seed, i would look elsewhere...
Yeah, the DSD is an f2, so it takes some pheno hunting to find a keeper. I had 2 crappy small almost black plants, one super frosty Strawberry smelling pheno, which I did not clone and still kicking myself for till today, and my keeper, that was a bit more on the SD side with more subtle Strawberry smell, but super strong potency...

the present dsd is curing in the jar- will retest in a week or so- still have 6 or 7 seeds left, but for me pheno hunting is tough as my tent is small 5x5ft, and i need to grow enough to keep me n friends happy- usually i grow my clones which are runtz muffin, purple punch, some rez's sdkush, and 1-2 others- which leaves little room for seeds.. each grow i try and start 2-3-4 diff seeds, hoping for a lady.... and that elusive 'elite' ... growing for almost 20years, and found what i would consider an elite only once... a cheap cheap nirvana jock horror seed (jack herer knockoff) which was kickass, but didn't take a cutting, and so far have gone thru 2 1/2 packs of jock and a pack of jack herer, but that special lady has not been found again...
I can feel you, space is precious and nobody wants to waste space for a mediocre plant, that's why I usually flower some clones among new seeds. I also went through hundreds of strains and only found a few long term keepers...but growing mono crops of the same strain was never interesting to me. Had Jock Horror in Amsterdam many years ago and it was one of those smokes, where it's hard to smoke more than half of the spliff....
Sorry, went a little off topic here. Good luck finding a keeper!

hey guys, I know it's been some time but I wanted to give it a proper review and not rush the curring process :)

smell:

jar smells sweet, spicy/peppery with diesel notes
where flower smells more earthy and herby, broken flower is very lemony inside

smoke:

smooth, smoke is medium, more diesely...with a hint of sweetness (more like a subtle vanilla sweetness than a sugar sweet)

nice oil ring during the smoke

strength:
this is a heavy gear, first one won't knock me out but if I overdo then it's almost impossible to do something, couchlock effect...

Proper phenohunts involve a population of 100’s of seeds of a strain to find desired phenotypes. An old rule of thumb from most heads was 10 packs to find a keeper or, keepers. Saying a breeder is putting out junk when you haven’t put in the work is malarkey. If you have a small garden and this is not feasible, please don’t blame it on the breeder.

Someone may find a keeper in one pack but this is honestly rare, because if you popped more packs you will probably find something better than your first selection.

Thinking that just because you bought one or 2 packs of seeds of a strain and you should find a keeper is also bs. Unfortunately there is no way to predict by looking at a seed whether it will be male, female or will be a keeper. The breeder is a person putting seeds in a pack for you to purchase and do further work for selections. They also did all the background work you don’t see, selecting breeding plants and making that happen.

Breeder’s make seeds, you make selections. Don’t blame your luck on the breeder.

haha, this thread derailed a bit :D

I like that someone mentioned Strawberry Diesel and said it was weak... just because what @ojd did is something completely different! I've been smoking for half of my life now and I wound't say it's a weak plant - Double Strawberry Diesel Jones, I can outsmoke a lot of "smokers" and that has been verified in the wild (haha!)

My only experience with Rez is that I received Sour Diesel IBL x Blue Moonshine seeds like a decade ago and to be honest that was a bomb! Still have some seeds with crosses I've made with it over the years - even now, after crossing it with a lot of other strains it doesn't disappoint compared to other "commercial" seeds.

Genetics are a lottery... sometime you'll get a keeper, sometime you'll get a shitter... (haha!)
Proper breeding just increases your changes of getting similar end result to what has been stated / written in the description of the breeder.

I would encourage to try @ojd seeds and then make any statements... Please don't compare just one plant that was crossed (even tho it was "the same" plant as the seeds were made) just because your luck / experience can be different to someone else...

Never had a bother with OJ. From first bat, dude dunt know me from Adam. I’ve thrown a couple of diaries up, admittedly not my finest but even so he’s always been supportive and complimentary. One of them he sent me beans from limited stock that he didn’t have to. Always running good promos and prices that reflect reality. When he sent me the freebies to run I also PAID for a pack out of COMMON DECENCY. I always see him offering shit out for free or 66/33% off. Mans gotta eat for gods sake doing it all him sen. Then there’s folk ringing him out for gratis. Get a grip ….

Thread cleaned up.
Take your Rez talk elsewhere ( im no fan either), but this the Connoisseur Genetics page.

1st ever deleted post but won't have any back forth bullshit on this page unless about my strains and or/any legitimate purchases.
This page about my seeds I created and the good people running them for us to see 🙏.

I won't be deleting anymore comments unless someone obviously trying to troll me
