Hi one Q, the last seven plants were low yielding, about 4-5 grams dry and they brought the running average down. After 35 plants my average is 6.5 grams per plant. Not bad, but I know these LUI can yield much better if allowed to grow bigger. This SOG didn't really do these LUIs justice.

Joey, yes do try some LUI. They surprise everyone with their big dense colas.
A few years back on OG I saw someone named FryGuy (I think), who was in a wheelchair, do a SCROG with LUI. I wish I saved some pics of his grow. His colas were huge and dense! That's when I decided to get some LUI. I hope to show what this strain is capable of in my next grow, which will be a two-bucket Hempy scrog. Just finished making a PVC screen and am looking for some cat litter pails to use as buckets. I'll finish this perpetual SOG with the 30 plants I have in there now and probably start a new thread with the Hempys.

great job with those small containers. i am going to play around with some white berry clones in 2 liter soda bottles here soon just to see how much one could produce.

keep up the good work!

Thanks for dropping by, krushonkush and mixin! The SOG is chugging along now that I chopped the lanky, low yielding plants. After these 36 plantlets, I'll take a break and start a SCROG.

These Apollo 11 seedlings will be cloned at the first node in a couple of days. Then the clones will be flowered and sexed. Hope to get at least one good mother out of this bunch.

These Apollo 11 seedlings were topped at the first node in preparation for making bonzai mothers. I'm supposed to make two clones from the first topping, but some were just too small to take more than one clone from. The seedlings' leaves were burned from a PH "experiment" gone awry. Hope they'll make it! In about a week, two top shoots should spring from the stumps. I'm rooting the clones in 3 oz cups of Canna Coco with a humidity dome and a heat mat.

very very nice grow :D

your switching over to scrog? whys????

Thanks, kii. This perpetual SOG worked out well, but long term, I can't keep up with the intense maintenance required. What I really need is an automated system that I can leave alone for a few days if needed. A two-bucket Hempy SCROG fits the bill nicely- a passive hydro system that needs watering every 2-3 days. I'm going to finish this SOG and take a break to modify my cab.

One of my reveg plants was showing spotted leaves and generally sickly looking. So I transplanted to a larger jar and made it a Hempy pot. The
Apollo 11 seedlings I topped last week are showing new growth. The clones are still rooting.

Hi puffmadizm,
The only Hempy I have is the one above in a coffee jar. It was already in flower when I repotted and the roots have not grown much. I'm feeding with H3ad's Lucas ratio of 6ml Micro and 9ml Bloom. That feed is for coco and my plants in pure coco seem to like it. Not so for the plants in coco and worm castings, which is closer to a soil mixture. The soil mix stays wet too long and the flowering plants seem stalled. I'm getting poor results this run with undersized colas and slow growth.

Hey Pete

I like your cab alot. Awesome work you're doing with DrBudGreenGene's method. I followed your thread from his. I've been doing scrogs and have a small sog in the works. I'm still not sure if I want to rootbind my plants that much that they need daily watering. Looks to me like it's a manual ebb and flow and you're the pump.

Hi redgreenry,
Hand watering is a chore, but when you have plants at different stages of flowering, you have no choice. Each stage of flowering calls for a different feed. I could automate to a top drip and feed all flowering plants the same feed, such as Lucas (0-8-16), but I think a custom feed schedule would yield better.

My transition to pure coco has not gone well. My plants are underdeveloped and prematurely yellowing. After five weeks, growth has slowed and the bottles stay wet too long. They look like they are dying.

My friend stuck with the original Dr. Bud soil mix and Schultz feed and is getting terrific results. Here's some of his plants at nearly eight weeks flower.

I think I've figured out what I'm doing wrong and will experiment with some different strains in pure coco and GH feed.

hey pete. gotta use 6/9 for all feeds and 6/12 or 6/9/7kb for pk boost type feed. When you get yellowing in coco feeding 8/16, just give a few waterings of plain water and then move to the approriate ratio above. Read the following: H3ad's sticky in the coir forum and in the REZ breeder forum "the Recipe" sticky. VITAL info.

Read the info on CNS17 and see what them numbers are and youll see that the numbers on 6/9 and 6/12 are lighter than cns.

You may need to do it from jump. Some plants freak out when you switch up foods.

Oh, look at the thread form mr.bojangles about perlite/coir vs straight coir.

Dont give up!!! Coir is tricky but get it down and it's hard to turn away.

Also, if you're getting lanky plants that dont fit right, when you repot in the bottles bury them deeper, right up to the node, or remove the bottom one and go up higher.

Just throwing some ideas at you, not trying to leash you.

Hey one Q, no I'm not giving up on coco. I read H3ad's sticky as well as REZ's recipe and I'll follow the "recipe" feed schedule. But another thread I read has me re-thinking the virtues of flushing with plain water. this one: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=116785 I'll stick with the GH micro and bloom since I have a couple of quarts left, but that new CNS17 sounds very promising. So many different things I want to try, like E&F and top drip. But for now I'll try my hand at a Hempy scrog.
