Too late to start seeds outdoors the 2nd week of May in Cali (Bay Area)?

I live in a warm, dry area of the bay area with lot's of sun.

1st time seed grower. I usually grow clones.

Is it too late to grow via seeds this season? I understand I wouldn't set any records. But is it too late for anything meaningful?

I wanted to try some Dutch Passion feminized strains such as Orange Bud, Durban Poison, Mazar and Blueberry. I could try the auto versions of these strains if that would be better? Mephisto and Night Owl also have a bunch of auto strains I'd be interested in.

If I purchased today, I could have seeds in soil within a week.

Autos could be a better option! But you have time for some short flowering regulars as well!

IMO, May 15 not too late to sprout seeds.
I've started seeds later in May than that and I live a long way north of you.
It may be too late if one wants pound + plants though.

One sure thing is that ' s the best timing for great auto' s outdoor ....
but like others said not too late for goin' with quick photo ...
With auto' s with this planning you can have all done mid august with great yield and quality !
all about your needs , but do both and compare .
