I just watched a 60 minutes segment on GoPro. I was thinking of
going to grab one but, was really wanting to grab a camera that
can take some good stills of bud too. Has anyone taken any quality
still bud shots with a GoPro? Many thanks

I have a GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition. I haven't had much luck getting good bud or plant shots indoors. Imho it does a lot better outside. My biggest complaints are the lack of a view finder & the ultra wide lens. You can buy a touchscreen back piece that lets you see what you're pointing the thing at, but you're still going to have to get real close to what you're shooting. Now the newest model, the 3+, is supposed to take crisper pictures but I haven't tried one yet so I can't say if it's any better or not.

Here are some pictures I just took of a jar of buds.

Hey supermanlives, hopefully it was helpful. I don't want it to seem like I'm hating on the GoPro, because I love mine. It takes awesome video, and that's what I bought & use mine for.

I have a GoPro Hero

I have a GoPro Hero

I have had it for a few years. I bought it to take video dredging for Gold underwater.

I have not taken any stills, but I have taken lot's of great HD video.

It is an excellent camera and I would recommend it to anyone :tiphat:

I would add that indoors you need good lighting :dance013:

Thanks for everyone's input, I went with a regular style camera for stills.
I was impressed with the founder of gopro and wanted to support his business.
