Anyone done a side by side of pH for coco?

Just looking for any definitive info on pH for coco. I'm having a real rough time trying to find consistent information on not just coco pH, but hydroponic pH.

Turns out alot of info out there is just word of mouth. Even the graphics charts don't agree with each other.

I've heard anything from 5.8 is THE pH for coco, to treat coco like soil... so 6.5pH.

Anyone have any input on this that may have done side by sides, or even had problems at one pH and it was fixed by nothing other than pH adjustment??

Hi! The best range for Coco is between 5,8 and 6,2. As long as you´re in that range, you´ll be fine. I´ve grown in Coco for many years using mainly the Canna Coco line. If you use smaller pots you can treat it like hydro with drip watering or watering every day or even several times a day. It also works to treat it more like soil, if you use bigger pots and water every other day. If you choose the first option, you´ll get closer to hydro yield wise

Some people say you can´t overwater in Coco, but you can, if you use too big containers and/or have too low temperatures in your room. I wouldn´t use bigger containers than 11 L...if you like smaller plants, 7,5 L is enough, but you have to water every day.

Good luck with you grow!

Peace

This is just anecdotal but for the past decade I've grown by pHing my reservoir down to 5.7 or so and then letting it naturally slowly drift up a bit over the week as it empties. I'm not very strict about it, anything from 5.6-5.8 for a starting pH works great for me.
