here's swan song seeds humboldt berry (trainwreck x dj's blueberry) grown out by my friend stretchpuppy who graciously gave me a hearty sample.
there were two phenos, green and purple. this report is more on the purple pheno, as that's the one i was really intriqued by. the green pheno was very similar to the trainwreck i recently reported on, but with a more earthy taste.
Appearance: i love the look of these buds! crystal coated green bud leaves protecting the even more coated brilliant violet calyxes beneath, with very skinny frail orange hairs wrapping it all up. these buds truly are a work of art!
Aroma: when the jar is opened, the room is filled with the smell of sweet, fruity-smelling cannabis. it is a pot smell for sure, but absolutely one of the most pleasant you can get. its not the citrusy fruit smell like im so used to, but more of a berry smell.
Taste: on your first inhalation, the sweet berry taste is evident on the inhale. as you exhale however, the taste is VERY earthy and fresh. it reminds me of gardening in the spring, the smell of moist warm dirt, but in the best way possible. the aftertaste in many flavors all rolled up, but i REALLY get the taste of black olives, which is actually much better than you would think. this is a very complex tasting herb for sure!
High: the high from this strain is very trainwrecky, but a little more mellow and a little longer lasting. whereas trainwreck is very sativa-dom, humboldt berry has a good hybrid feel to it, makes you feel good all around! the initial potency is about on par with tw, but i have noticed this stuff has much better duration. you can smoke it and be fine for hours, although thats not really my style so i keep smoking it, lol.
