Hi folks! i have one mid size room (12 sqm/128 sqf) available at my house, so i decided to turn it into a grow room

Im gonna split the room up, 3-4 in veg and 3-4 plants in bloom for many cycles.i think it sounds reasonable.Now i figured that i can have one 250w and the other 400w, both digital ballasts. Thats the max amount i could squeez out of my electricity bill so it didnt make any suspicion.

Which lamp power is better to which side of the room?

I thought my self that veg side will have 250W and blooming will be better with 400w?what do you suggest, or maybe squeez couple of CFl lamps in the veg room?

650 watts will definitely not cause suspension lol. you could get a 200 something watt 6 or 8 t5 fixture for veg, the flos will keep nodes close. theeeen flower with 400 or 600

If you have a whole room you should really get at least a 600w or 1k for flowering. A 400watt is only optimal in a 3ft x 3ft footprint. You could easily get away with vegging in a small cabinet or a small tent with a T5 fixture or some CFL's in the corner of the room or the closet.

Unless you already have some crazy electical pull, a 1k and a t5 or CFL's will not draw any suspicion. If you are dedicating a room to growing, come harvest I promise you will regret not getting the 1k if you get something smaller

My main saltwater aquarium takes 1300watts 12hrs a day, and 900 watts the other 12 hrs a day. (and I don't even have a chiller which would add a lot more)

thanks guys! But for 3-4 plants i think more than 600w will be a overkill. That aquarium example was good to know! But i know if im getting bigger lamps i will put more plants under it and i dont want that cause im not goin to be absolutely quiet about it and with 6 plants they cant accuse me for trying to sell it. Penalties are ruff here in north europe
Im just goin through the 400w club and some amazing results over there, also my wife kinda gets nervous when im talkin about bigger lamps= bigger penalties

The aquarium example is spot on. The power some people run without knowing is amazing between computers, game consoles, home theater...

My 250 has me buried alive. If this is a personal grow, there's no way you'll be able to out smoke what a 400 produces. Stay small, stay quiet, stay safe.

And put the big lamp on the flowering side.

Big screen plasma tv can run up to 600w.

a tip i usually tell ppl worried about suspicion... build you a cheap lil greenhouse in your backyard, put a couple 600 or 1's in there with a bunch of tomato plants. that way if there is any suspicion you can blame it on your greenhouse. but of course have your "real" grow safely inside . you can even register in the farmers market and sell your tomato for "proof". plus they are yummy!
