Your Last Big Loss

Weed speaking, of course. When was it?


I don't want any sympathy, but, my beautiful garden is DOA. Long story short, damage to equipment during a storm, then a string of other problems.

Plants over 1 year old, now mostly dead. They vegged for months and months in big containers.

Anyway, that's pretty much my only legit loss in my hobby career.

Still haven't chopped them down yet. Left with an oz. of airy garbage and no smoke where I should have pulled 8 oz. or better from a single plant.

Rolling an oven baked joint, fresh off the trashable plants.

Never had a failure growing before. Also, I never really painted far outside the lines of the basics, and these 15 gallon containers were part of that.

When was your last big failure as a grower?

During my very first season I had an old grower give me roughly 26 spindly saplings which I believe were Bogglegum, did them all outdoors and had one amazing fucking mom; smelled and tasted like pumpkin guts. As much as it irks me I didn't get cuttings of that mom, it churns my insides to think about that male I culled - having it at first just isolated in another part of the yard then stupidly killed it later out of paranoia. Reeked of bazooka joe bubblegum and was a little resilient squirt of a plant, I remember just fucking with it around the fence b/c I didn't care about it and twirling it around shit but he'd still come back. That smell though...never forget..

Not so much on my end but they're still around, though it'll be some effort, Deadman {'73 Afghan X '76 Oaxacan} and the original mom from that cross (the '73 landrace Afghan known as 'OR' in the PNW) are still around, but getting the mom will be harder. I'm itching to get back this {Pineapple Express X White Widow} for some pollination as well.
