You-Tube now requires a Google account

Hello all,

I Just wanted to bring something across that imo, might be just another way for big brother to track even closer, what people like to watch on you-tube & such. It's nothing new that you-tube requires a membership for those who want to create vids, subscribe, & watch vids containing stuff unsuitable for minors, etc., but why now a google account?

There just seems no logical reason that I see, to be required in having a google account in order to be with you-tube.

Well, any of you already know of this, or wish to add or comment, please do so...

Youtube doesn't REQUIRE a google account. You can simply sign up using any e-mail address. There is nothing forcing you to link your youtube account to your google account nor is youtube forcing you to create a google account.

Google collects your personal data and has used same in the past. When called on it, they did stop using the data but the fact that google holds more data then any other entity in the world is scary to say the least, since they DO NOT have a clear privacy policy. Now kids are lining up and buying android phones, so google can collect personal info 24/7 on those users.

Google has also scrubbed cached sites (and live sites) for their liberal brethren. They have done this for clinton and obama many times to help their puppets avoid being caught lying. This shows google to have an agenda and to NOT be the unbiased collector of data as they portend. They are also the gate keepers of search results and do slant results towards their political leanings. Try looking for Obamacare and you will be directed to the white house bullshit on the health care bill and not to any tea party sites that coined the phrase.

High level officials in the white house have direct calls to the google campus to help this administration slant the truth, with googles help in filtering search results. Why don't you "google" some of what I am telling you.

If that's not evil to you then whatever.

Google employees are not supermuans, it is not possible for any one or group of people to comprehend the vast amount of data google has, that is what computers are for, the only reason SELECT google employees have access to that data is for maintenance. Either people gravly overestimate the abilities of the human mind or they do not understand how google works. Google emmployees are not fucking rainman.

Moreover even if one were to use the data maliciously their isn't much substantial damage that could be done, besides there are positions implemented specifically to deal with abuse of the system.

Googles algorithms for seach results are based off of the users, that is what makes google such a great such engine, the reason that some sites are higher than others is based on the frequency of seaches and vists. If you really want to see a tea party website with info about "obamacare" try seaching for 'tea party obamacare' you might get better results. If you know what your looking for and how to search for it you'll find what you want. It's not googles fault you don't know how to seach, and if your argument is that people who search for similar info will be directed to 'bullshit' sites that is also there fault. Its not googles responsibility to direct sites which agree with your political views, its your responsbilty to find them.

In any case, what i wrote was true. It matters not to me if you wish to be an apologist for google. They do have huge amounts of data on you, me and everyone else. They have mis-used that data in the past. They do have a political bent. And, IMO, contrary to their stupid candy coated moto that does impress most children like yourself, they are evil and have proved it if you just care to look.

actually it is. When it asked me to connect a google account to youtube I tried to make a fake one. It asked for an email addy I currently use, since I didn't put one... it asked for a cell phone number. You can't create a google account without one or the other. I say f*** google. I got along perfectly fine without youtube before.

The amount of BS they do and get away with is completely ridiculous.

What we do know is google is LEOs new best buddy. Google search terms (and I'm assuming videos) entered from your computer are admissible in court. Check out these nifty quotes from formal google exec Eric Schmidt who is now on the white house council for science and technology.

Nowadays if you are on the internet, its nearly impossible to avoid google in some way shape or form, whether its goo.gl short links, google analytics tracking, youtube videos, any form of google's blogs, google adsense. I believe I read somewhere that google has its hands in some way shape or form on over 80% of the websites on the internet.

As an seo its essentially impossible to avoid google because they provide the best tools, and for free.
