You could get with this, or you could get with that... (Which seedling to pick)

Hi all. I'm a neb here.

I have some experience growing tho. Mostly refined with tomatoes and other non forum related stuff.

Anyways, I have two seedlings, white widow, fem, each planted from seed at the same time in the same conditions (rockwool cubes). Both were toooooo stretched out of rockwool in my opinion after their germination, but I potted each down a ways up there stems into solo cups.

Now, they seem to start...

I am only going to grow one plant.

So my dilemma is this, do I chose the one on the left, which sprouted 2 days earlier and has more nodes already and is dark green and taller? Or do I choose the one on the right, sprouted two days later, which is more horizontally oriented though showed some early nut or light burn (prolly my fault)?

I will be growing in a SuperCloset Super LocKer LED with limited horizontal and vertical space. Gonna LST. It would be a no brainer in unlimited space, but which would you choose?

Its to soon to make a choice as there both still so small.

I would start training them both now and maybe make a decision when space starts running out.

Who was the breeder of the widows? Might do you a favour to try and find out what type of phenos other growers have been getting, might make your choice a bit easier.

Peace

Definitely too early to tell. Transplant into larger container....you have time to decide.
Good luck!

Hey thanks all for the input. I don't know who the breeder is, I got the seeds from Seedsman in the UK. They were a free addition to my order, but they were the ones I decided to try first.

Went to Home Depot today for #1 containers for both... Per your guidance I'll wait to decide until they are ready for transplanting into the final container...

Like suggested earlier why not flower them both, 2 phenos better than 1 in my book.

Peace.

YTS-

New setup. New strain. Specifications for grow space say 2 plants, I just doubt it. Still though, I may just see how it goes. It is really interesting how the two seeds (of supposedly the same strain) living in the exact same conditions could result in such different physical appearances. I guess this is my introduction to geno v. pheno, (or bad seeds).

Take care.

Do a google search on seedsman white widow s1, on another site 9 years ago people spoke well of the strain.

Peace.

Update: This or that...

Update: This or that...

So I have taken advice and repotted each into ProCan #1 containers. I replanted into Fox Farm Ocean Harvest soil amended with more worm castings and more perlite.

I repotted with RO water treated only with seaweed extract (minimal doses) and then ph'd to 6.5.

Its about a week later now and both plants look lovely and pots are still heavy, so no other waterings yet.

I am waiting on the right time to top them. Some advice I've read says top at 5 or six nodes. Now, this may be a stupid question and I think I already know the answer, but when counting nodes, do you count the individual nodes, or the pairs? When I count the individuals I have 6 potential grow tips (3 pairs). When I count the pairs I have 3.

Advice?
