Yo, long time smoker, first time grower, SOG?

Yo whats up guys, first time posting around these parts! Kind of lost track of things after the OG site went down...just starting my first homegrow in Vandank, I havent grown before but for some weird reason all the parts seemed to come together for free from friends and it really would be pointless not to. Got 9 bagseeds from fucking *unbelievable* buds, all sprouted and appear to be quite healthy after 9 days. Planning to SOG them, bend em over and pinch the little top off em. Roughly at which point in the plants developement should I do the deed? Aaanyways, gotta get back to some studies...

Hey! welcome to IC... If you want to do a sog, usually you would want just one main cola (top) on each plant... But it wouldn't hurt to top them. You can do this anytime, how many sets of leafs are on the plants now? I would wait until the tops are big enough to take a clone from each... So cut about 3-4 inches off the top, (read about how to take clones (trust me you are gonna want to save the genetics if you find a real nice plant)caprichio water cloneing its really easy) THen flower your plants, throw the males and the corresponding clones, and make mothers out of the clones you like.
When doing a sog it is helpful to work off of clones, because the clones are already "mature" you can pot them, veg for a week and flower right away.

Aint nothin wrong with "bagseed"! Hell, all my seeds come in a little bagy anyway! I guess some come in those little round platic things, but anyway.

So, what kind of lights, soil, nutes, etc... Thats the shit we want to know!
Topping? It is pretty common I think atleast for me to "pinch" after the 5th node, or 5th set of leaves.

i would go with foxfarm products potting soil big bloom and grow big and some oxygen plus is good to if you want to keep it simple. as far as light's i would do a 400w metal halide and 400w or 600w high pressure sodiom. and as far as the plant getting done. you should wait at least till little over half of the hairs are brown.

Hey thanks for the interest, just finished some studies time for my hidden agenda. Decided to go organic cause it seems relatively simple and I like my weed to taste like weed.

Got a 1k HPS in there, atm the babies are just under a T5 fluoro just until they hit the runway, 9 seeds altogether. 2 NL#1, 2 NL#4, 4 Sweet Skunk, and 1 Cheese. Needless to say, I am really. really. hoping on a good sexy Cheese. Bought some sterile potting soil with all the normal shit, peat moss, perlite, etc and I plan to compost with Blood Meal, Bone Meal, Liquid Kelp, Guanos (N and P, planning on hitting them with lots of N at the end of their veg life), castings...transplant with Mike 3x. Keeping it simple, my overriding concern is just getting some nice clones to work with after the learning curve.

Now, excuse me while I light my spliff, oh jah, I gotta take a lift.....heheh

You can tie some soda/beer cans to the main stem so it grows sideways. This way when the stem gets stronger you can keep adding water to weigh it down. I noticed this helps you get more bud in the long run instead of chopping the top. Unless you're making a clone with the top...

LST i know a lot about(well tbh not much to know)*grins*
It is when you train your plants to grow(Train to fit a area)
Simply by bending your main stem.....
There are many diff ways folk LST there plants(With string to te them down,another is to use weights on the end(like the guy said with the cans with water in)))
Just do some searching on LST and u will get a much better understanding...

FIM/topping is a way to gain more shoots from any single stem(normally done on the Main stem)
Really hard to explain coz i bearly get it myself(where to make the pinch/cut)
