Been a second, haven't been on much in a while. Rebooting an old cab i had laying around. Nothing too exciting yet, started flowering 5 days ago (11/23) veg time around 4 weeks. Got a bunch of new beans to play with from some outdoor friends this year, so excited to see what shows up.

Specifics:
Cab - 25"x25"x50"
Light - 250 MH (have HPS just wanted to try something different this time around)
Fan- 265 cfm squirrel cage (have 6 inch inline, but man it's overkill)
Two 4 inch desk fans for circulation

Few weeks ago, note the cal def in the back has been taken care of, lol i forgot i'd switched my RO off and was watering with PH 10.4 water

Just before lights out today

Strains: Couple year old mystery beans i'm secretly hoping are Blueberry Diesel, Some Chemdawg x True Blueberry x 98 Bubba I crossed with a beautiful purple Killing Fields male, If i get a miserable showing gender wise I have some Pure Thai I'd love to play with in reserve. Failing that a buddy owes me some clones, so if need be theres a few Sour D's in the pipeline as well.

As per the light; I have a cheapo Sylvania in there as its all i could find locally. I have it in a flimsy open air reflector in the cab, seems to do the job, maybe not the best light footprint but it has to help a little bit with the coverage. As it is I have a small fan blowing on my bulb and it's sitting maybe 4-5 inches above plants at the moment (lowest i could go and get coverage) as it is i can hold my hand there all day, warm but not hot by any means. Temps are pretty stable 82 at the warmest, 55 at the coolest (i know that is perhaps a little more variation than one would want, but i'm trying to see if theres any color in these beans) I have maybe 25 % fan capacity available for further reduction in temps should i find later it's helpful.

Depending on the ratio of guys to gals i get considering throwing some more light in there to see what they can do before they're fate is determined...

Cheers

Looking really good. Those plants look happy! How many do you currently have in there and what sized pots?

Theres 10 crammed in there at the moment, in 6 inch square pots. So far two confirmed females and 5 or so i strongly suspect are plotting to impregnate them. I want some more seeds to play with so I'll keep pollen from the best looking males for a seed run down the road. I'll be glad to have some more room, getting crowded in there.

So far I'm not to impressed with the (hopefully) Blueberry Diesel are strongly leaning towards sat dom, which as i recall isn't too out of place, but is proving troublesome in such tight quarters.

Got them their first bloom nutes today; standing by for further developments.

So update time; the tallys are in and it appears there were 6 males in the lot and one lady who didn't quite cut the mustard. Culled 4 so far, kind of torn between which of the three surviving mystery bean males to kill as they're pretty damn similar, might just take pollen from each and see what's what in the progeny.

As for the girls only one of my cross ended up female, and she is definitely getting her fathers sativa legs, as such i have her tied down to contain her. Mystery beans taking over, the two ladies I have of it couldn't be more different. Curious to see if they end up turning into the two distinct phenos i remember from the diesel (if that's in fact what's going on here).

Quick update: 3 Weeks into flower and these three ladies been knocked up. Made a little containment zone for the Boys as i have some clones due to root pretty soon; Easy peasy, clear tote+tyvek. More beans have been popped just in case these aren't what i'm looking for and a few water clones from a friend are waiting for nubs. Starting to be able to see the gals strut their stuff.

Well that's a good question, I'm hoping around 70-80 days for the mystery beans as they so far look to me like the strain I think they are.
The Chemdawg x True Blueberry x Bubba x Killing Fields there's no tellin, lots of gene pool to play with; the Chem x TB finished mid 70s, Bubba was about 65 days and Killing Fields took a good 90+

Going in to week 5 (day 34) Getting frosty, Each one has it's own thing going on smell wise, back right is straight up fruit loops, back left is more musty fuely, and the front right gal is more blueberry/kushy.

picture.php

If there's any color in these phenos i'd imagine it'll rear it's head pretty soon. Those purple pistils from a few days ago seem to have kind of shriveled into "i've been polinated" pistils.

Judging from last weeks pic, they seem to be swelling up nicely.

Have two seedlings in there also just to see what they do 12/12 from seed (more mystery beans) figure they've gotta get goin soon or risk losing viability, curiously enough they seem to be handling flower nutes well (i've been going pretty light, but still nice to know they don't need to be babied)

Week 6 Update: Got the tinker itch, and put in my 250 HPS :p I don't really notice much in the way of growth til i look at the weekly pictures. But they're chugging right along. A few rather swollen calyxes per lady, won't be too long yet for the first few to crack open and I get some fresh seeds. :woohoo:

picture.php

Think I've found my roof for nutes, as i've been getting the tiniest bit of nute burn here and there, and admittedly they're darker green than I usually care for, so they're on a molasses only diet from here on out. As it happens I'm near out of floranova bloom anyhow so it couldn't have worked out better timing wise.

And I tried to get a closeup of the frosty one, but everytime i framed the top of the cola up, the damn camera focused on the fan in the background, next watering I'll try and get a better one

Coming up on week 7, Noticeable swelling happening and all the trichs are coming out of hiding. Smells getting much fruitier all around. The fuely gal is taking on that distinct blueberry diesel smell i remember, definitely getting excited for this one. Strangely she's in the smallest pot of the bunch and seems to be steaky bulking up (don't think she took the pollen as well).

Not much to report, have a few more seeds i popped rotated in to test for gender. Finally got a solid clone of all three ladies in there so i can save any of them that end up keepers. Ended up with doubles of a few so i suppose as soon as they're revegged to a reasonable extent they'll go right back in. Day 53, and heft is being packed on yet, the two i up-potted seem to be swelling daily (which i had hoped) definitely getting excited for the end

I'll try and get a better pic a little later in the week when i water.

Week 7 tomorrow! More of the same pretty much, gave them all a good flush yesterday, molasses and water this week, then just water from next week on. They aren't as faded as I had thought they'd be by this point, so really a shot in the dark as to when they'll finish (my guess is mid 10 weeks).

Kimmy-lou Bubba-Fields (think she must have not taken well to the transplant as she's been kind of frozen for a few weeks, lovely bright red/pink hairs here and there, still smells like fruit loops (very killing fields smell)
picture.php

NBD#1 Only gal in a the original 5 (i think) inch square pot, definitely chugging along, seems to be keeping up with the other ladies despite it. Kind of wonky growth up top, but everything's covered in trichs even the longer fans around her cola, Very dense little nugs, smells a little like elderberry cough syrup, with some berry fuel going on as well.
picture.php

NBD#6 The most sativa of my seedlings has turned into a very indica behaving lady, albeit a little leggy (hence she's bent over) She's very similar to the other NBD smell wise, a little more general fruity smelling with some more skunk thrown in, this is the only one that really smells like weed at this point, but man i'm getting excited to try her, and even more so for her in a scrog in the near future. Every time i reduce a picture the trich's seem to disappear, this one's a little better, but she's straight covered!
picture.php

General shot of the gang, if you look at the bottom left you can see a sister NBD seedling who's trying out life 12/12 from seed (great growth from her so far, she's currently around 20 days from sprout.
Fans on NBD#1 are looking super hooky/fading, imagine she'll be the first to go as she's the most faded, losing a few fans a day, and the tips of her cola fans are just starting to go.

Think that's all i got for now

So 3 days to week 10, fading fast, one got nute burned pretty good despite getting good flushing every watering (think they all have a touch of MG def due to plain water) So it's due any day now, trying to squeeze a bit more amber out of it before it gets the chop.

Other two are chugging right along, my favorite NBD#6 at 67 days:

Tried to crop it so the trichs show up right lol, oh and she's purpling a touch though it's hard to get a picture of.

picture.php

And kimmy-lou showing some funky thai structure or something, wierd flower for sure, all the hairs are magenta/purplish, pretty in its odd little way. This one's def in need of some MG lovin', looks the most sat of the group so it might get a light feed here next water
