hello to you all, i've got a small (?) problem with my plant. the older leaves, ones on the bottom, have been turning yellow, and its been moving up the plant. today i noticed some redness on some stem. two days ago, i bought some calmag and added 1 tsp/gal. i've looked into deficiencies, magnesium seemed to be it. the leaves have green veins and yellow around them, red stems, so i think it has to be.
its been flowering for about 3 weeks now, and this has really become a problem here in the past few days

here's the stats...
soil
What STRAIN are you growing? seed from og kush bag
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?) seed
What is the age of your plants? 6 weeks
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? flower
What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc) growing
What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot) not sure of volume, but its 6x6 or 5x5 square pot
What substrate/medium are you using? (percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?) miracle gro organic, nothin else
What Nutrient's are you using? How much of each? How Often? *Knowing the brand is very helpful* fox farm gro big, big bloom, tiger bloom, water with nutes once a week, every other/3 waterings at recomended dosage.
What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used?
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"?
What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen?
How often are you watering? 2-3 times a week, water when needed
When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding? usually once a week, or every 2 or 3 waterings
What size bulb are you using? 150w hps
What is the distance to the canopy? 5 inches
What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity) 35-45 %
What is the canopy temperature?hovers near the 80s
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range) lower 70s
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) not sure, have a 120mm 76cfm pc fan for exhaust, two 80mm intake fans
Is the fan blowing directly at plants? yes
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist? wet right now, i just watered a little, but usually stays moist
Is your water HARD or SOFT? i use distilled h20 from the store
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched? no
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when? no
Are plant's infected with pest's? no, no bugs

sorry i dont have any pictures, i still dont have a camera. i sure do hope i described this as best as possible. :joint:

I'd watch it with feeding the 'recommended dose' of anything. Usually a 1/2 dose of any fertilizer is a full dose for cannabis. Remember, unless it says cannabis on the label of the fertilzer you cannot trust their 'recommended dose'. Use only a 1/4 dose every 2-3 waterings if you are using a good quality soil mix.

I suspect overfeeding. Overfeeding can cause lockout, not just overdosing. Foliar feeding can address this....

I would foliar feed with an 1/8 dose of the Grow Big and an 1/8 dose of the Tiger Bloom in a gallon of water mixed together. Both are foliar feed friendly.
Mist the plants with the solution during the first few hours of the beginning of the light cycle.
Remember to turn the grow light off first.
Keep a regular lamp on in the area so the plants know it's still daylight time, leave ventilation on, wait for the plants to dry off completely, then turn the grow light back on.
This should address any deficiency or lockout if there is any.

Foliar feeding can be done once every two weeks safely as long as you use a low strength PH balanced solution (below 400ppm or 1/4 dose).

My best guess is that you were under feeding the plants and they were using up their nitrogen during the stretch phase in the first part of flowering. This caused the yellowing. Next time try giving them Grow Big into the first week of flowering & it will help prevent that. Then.......I like to give my plants 1 teaspoon per gal. of Tiger Bloom in tap water every watering during flower & they grow just great. This is called continuous feeding & even house plants seem to really enjoy this kind of treatment. Give the plants a dose of 2 tsp.Tiger Bloom/gal. water about once a week with 1 tsp./gal water of molassas during flower & they will be very happy indeed!!!

I second that 420....
Hey try and find some high nitrogen nute somwhere, or maybe you got some. If so give it to the plants that are yellowing the worst full strength. It doesnt sound like a cal mag problem tho, ust nitrogen and maybe phos with the redish purpleish stems. I would go ahead and give em full strength veg nutes and you will soon see the green come back to the leaves that arent all the way dead and once the green starts coming back step back to your bloom nutes and finish up with those, then once the yellowing does come back it will be the last 2-3 weeks of flowering and its ok for that to happen then.
Good luck!
