Yellowing/pot size

So I've got a 27 inch Satori in flower, day 12. I stuck it into 12/12 early on in an attempt to control height (it was around 6 inches) but I didn't see any preflowers until about 2 weeks after I flipped. I have it in a 1.7 gallon pot, which I realize is quite small, but it was another attempt to control height (and since I flipped to 12/12 early figured I might be able to get away with a small pot). I'm hoping the stretch will stop very soon, because I have almost run out of vertical space. On top of that, I'm worried that the plant will become or is already rootbound - there has been yellowing of the lower leaves (although this has only occurred after I have left the plants for too long without water, so I guess it could be an underwatering issue? At this point I'm watering every 2 days - I guess because of the small pot they are really sucking up water fast). I have not started feeding yet - I've read that Mandala's strains don't need much in the way of nutrients. They have been in fox farm ocean forest soil for almost 4 weeks now. Any suggestions? Should I put it in a bigger pot now (If this means the vertical growth will explode even more then I won't be able to do it). Should I start feeding and see how the plants respond?

Try the transplant it couldnt hurt. Is it possible to tie the plant down? If not maybe you could find a pot thats bigger but still has the same height as the one your using.
I had this problem before with height and would just cut the bigger rounder pots down.

the plants eat up a lot of nitrogen during stretch, so it could be a lack of nitrogen. just noticed you said you have not fed them. I would give them a dose of grow nutes. 1.7 gallons is not that small. i grow in 1 gal grow bags.

spiral - That's a good idea about cutting the big pots down. Actually, with regard to the height with the bigger pot I was more worried about a potential growth spurt by the plant as it grows into the new soil then with the height of the pot itself. If I transplanted into a bigger pot wouldn't the plant start to shoot up in height even more as the roots expand into the new soil?

Old Soul - Yeah I was thinking about a possible nitrogen def. - I wasn't sure whether it was that or maybe it was caused by underwatering. I guess if I think it is a nitrogen problem I should feed them some veg nutes? Because flower nutes usually don't have much nitrogen right?

How tall do your plants in the 1 gal grow bags get and how is your yield? Was it clones or seed plants? It would be great if I didn't have to transplant mine and could just leave it in the 1.7 gal pot.
