I have thrips and it looks very similar esp zoomed in on the second pic. , black poop and tunneling on the surface.
The adults move fast and are easily missed at first , 2mm long and hide in the leaf veins , mine are bright orange but they come in many pale shades , go hunting with a magnifying glass.

Pretty easy to control if it is them.

It could be insects or fungal or a combination thereof.

The leaves are also very thick and curly, which indicates issues with magnesium uptake and pH issues.

Which could be attracting the insects.

To solve problems like these, you need a checklist to see what is out of the ordinary. So...

- pH and EC or PPM of the soil and nutrients
- what medium is used
- if you have it, temperatures and humidity
- strain
