yellowing of fan leaves at day 30 of 12/12

is this possible from the plants consuming nutrients from the leaves? i know plants start to yellow out towards the end of thier lives.

i have three girls that are really packing it on at day 30....been getting a little yellowing for the past few days....mainly fan leaves through out the growth...

i fed them last night and gave them a touch more N in the grow nutes but other than that the flowering nutes are turned up...

question:

is out of the realm of possibility to get some natural yellowing halfway through flower?

Having some bottom leaves yellow (and drop) is normal at around 30 days, but it shouldn't be happening all over the plants.

i have decided i have had the light to close since i began 12/12....the light yellow is only the new growth...i have had my 400watt within 6inches to some parts of the canopy

Having a 400w 6" or less away from you tops isn't going to cause light bleaching or yellowing on its own. Something else is going on.

For years and years my only crop has been sativa. For years and years I did not use HPS because of the leaf yellowing. 2:1 CMH to HPS eliminated 90% of the yellowing.
Then I started a tray of indica, same everything, even cloned them with the sativa for control. But...
Indica fan leaves began turning yellow less than a month into bud, right next to green sativa's.
Hanging 128 watts of 5000K T8's vertical 5" from the side helped a major amount. It has been about a week and the indica is darkening again.

The indica is a Northern Lights from the 90's that was gifted to me. It is WAY more sensitive to sodium poison than the sativa. Some strains are touchy, wanting more full spectrum to dilute the HPS.
I look at sodium as a stimulant drug to be rationed to the plant. More is not always better. :kitty:


PS: if you're not using HPS then I am lost, do not understand nutes at all. I follow the directions on the jug and change it out lots. GH 1-2-3.

N (nitrogen), P (phosphorous), and K (potassium) are major nutrients. By micronutrients I meant stuff like Calcium, Magnesium, and Iron. Providing some N in flower is standard. Most of the chemical nutrient formulas that are mixed up for cannabis provide a decent amount of N.

If they were my plants I would top dress with earthworm castings, water in a compost tea, and expect them to get better within days. I'm not really how you should fix the problem with synthetic nutrients. Perhaps someone else can chime in?

Nah, doesn't look same as sodium yellow, my veins go yellow also and the leaf gets thin, not a clue with what's going on there.

My not understanding nutes is almost a good thing. Other than spending too much money ($60/month) by changing out the res way too often. The plants get new food all the time, GH is inexpensive enough to change every 4-5 days, any yellow I get I KNOW is lights because everything else is freshly mixed.

i am think it HAS to be light bleaching. i just raised the lights and things arent getting worse. botincare cal/mag is part of my regular feeding. here is what i am using

The following picture is of a plant with an iron deficiency. It looks pretty similar to me.

the difference between a mag and a iron is that iron goes to the very tip tops of the new growth and mag usually stays mid to top fan leaves....

give it some epsom salts not sure the amount got to look that one up.


but it could be a part of a bigger problem like lockout and salt buildup... have you flushed and tested the PPM and ph of your runoff????

When I've had problems with a mag def, it looked more like the following picture. I agree about the flushing, PPM, and pH, though.
