yellowing leaves, spider mites and misc problems

Hi guys. I have some og kush, hindu skunk and grand daddy that are 4 weeks into flower. They are showing signs of some problems.

1. Spider mites.... I'm treating daily with organicide and have been using forbid for the last few days. I'm trying to spray the tops and bottoms of the leaves when I can. They're still hanging around though. Tough little varmits.

2. yellowing leaves. I was out of town last weekend and the ph was about 5.2 for several days. I since have adjusted to about 5.8 but the damage is done from what it appears. I also have since added more base nutes and less addative. PPM is currently 1250-1300. I am using the lucas formula, big but, sensi cal bloom, roots excellurator and hygrozym.

3. I have a few leaves that look funny with some rust looking blemishes. I added 4 teaspoons of epsom salt to my res 3 days ago but I can't yet tell if it's recovering.

So that's about it for now. Any suggestions on stuff to try would be appreciated. Here's some pics. .. (to follow).

growing method is ebb and grow with hydroton. I'm in my 4th week. Air temps are about 80-82 during the day with good air movement. CO2 is 1500 ppm. Temps at night are 78-79.

damn, these spider mites are tough! I sprayed at least 4 times with forbid and today I'm spraying with organocide. I"m still seeing these little bastards!

You can lower the temps and humidity to help deal with the mites. They do not like lower humidity or cooler temps. They do however thrive in the heat. Also you can get yourself some neem oil. That helps as well. Puts a HUGE halt on the reproductive system of the mites. Eventually causes death. Is EVERY plant in the garden infested? If not,you should isolate the ones that are infested. Keep them away from the un-infested.

You seem to be feeding them around 2.1-2.2 ec. I would stop everything and flush those ladies really well....REALLY WELL! Then feed them lighter on the nutes. Give them some time to recover from whatever it is. Does look like some ph damage as well. You said you adjusted that but you need to flush your plants. Leaving the plants with a toxic buildup and adjusting the ph is really pointless. Flush, adjust ph and leave them be. They should recover nicely! :2cents:

Cool. I can flush them. Is it more of an issue of nutrient buildup, or more of a situation where they weren't getting enough nutrients? I appreciate the input.

I don't really know what the EC is. I have a ppm meter and it's about 1200-1350. The plants are about 5 feet tall (but scrogged) so I thought they could handle the higher ppm at week 4.

Personally, I battled the mites; again and again. Tried everything, then I should have listened to the wife. I ordered some predator mites, do the same. Couple weeks and everything was fine as can be.

Wife says "how easy to spend $50 and sprinkle them on" :wallbash:

now she says go feed the dog.

what should I do about the rust colored spots on the edges of the leaves? Is that magnesium deficency?

The rust colored spots will go away with proper treatment. Flush Flush and Flush some more. Get the whole root zone cleaned out. The toxic nute buildup will cause your plants not to take up nutes and eventually other issues if not treated asap. Those rust colored spots are probably due to your ph being off and/or lack of some cal or mag. But don`t go assuming you know the problem, once you are sure"fully sure" you know what is wrong then treat the plant accordingly and then leave it alone. Give it about 5 days to a week to fully recover. Then you will be ok.

I forgot totally about predator mites....do as Cannaco said and add some lady bugs and they will devour all those mites on up. Think of it this way, mites are so bad inside because what normally kills them outdoors is not present inside. So they can multiply fast with no enemies. That is why outdoors mites are not an issue. Other stuff like slugs and leafminers will give you issues outdoors...but not mites. Add some predators and they will be gone within a couple weeks to a month. Just depends on how bad your infestation is. Hope all this helps.....Keep It GreeN....and Healthy

is it too late to get predator mites or ladybugs now that I've sprayed quite a bit with organocide and forbid?

Read the labels of what you sprayed. Some sprays will say weather or not it is ok to use that spray when using bugs

I'll do some research. I have the label on the organocide, but because of the cost on the forbid, I bought an ounce at the shop. The full bottle was about $275 for 8 oz.
