Yellowing and spotting

Sagarmatha Mystery Mix seed

Temps: 75-80

Miracle grow organic potting soil

6.0-6.2ph water 5.8-6.0ph runoff

5ml PBP veg and 5ml Cal-Mag plus per gallon every watering

24hrs of light from seed for 3 weeks now

45% humidity

This started showing up right before I started feeding this week. Feeding hasn't helped but the plant seems fine other than this problem. It started out on a few lower leaves and is working it's way up. I definately wait until it's dry to water, if anything too dry sometimes. You can see a little light burn on one of the leaves in one pic. I'm all ears people.

I'm sure it's dry before I water it. I've used the "lift the pot" method for a few grows now and it weighs almost nothing when I water. I'll try backing off the ferts. Thanks

Well, the problem became worse over the past couple of days. She seemed kind of dry today so I transplanted into a larger container, trashed the miracle grow soil and replaced it with a mix of FFOF and FFLW, turned on my 250W HPS, added another fan, and watered with plain water with 6.4ph. I'll post pics later just in case anyone else has this problem and keep this thread updated.

Pure Blend Pro are crappy ferts? What do you suggest I use then? I switched from Fox Farm nutes to PBP on my last grow and it seemed better to me. I was blaming it mostly on the soil but then when I started researching it seems like a lot of people are having problems similiar to this using PBP and Cal-Mag.

shes looks hungry

pbp is good ferts but very light giving you good control over the amount you feed your plants. im not sure if you need to give cal-mag every watering though.

bump up the ferts to 10ml maybe even 15.

id also suggest switching your light schedule to 18/6 giving her 6 hours of sleep might help a lot

Ok, she is looking MUCH better now. She's really starting to look more hungry than defficient or locked out. It's going to take a few days to dry so I'll wait and see what she does until then. I have PBP veg, Liquid Karma, Cal-Mag plus, and Sweet. Any suggestions on a feeding mixture to try. I set up my timer today so she'll start 18/6 tommorow. I'm about to order some digital Hanna PH and EC testers. Maybe I can get this completely straightened out.

Yeah, I think the ph of the soil was the problem. I think it was causing some lock outs. Like I said, I transplanted into a Fox Farm mix and watered with 6.4ph plain water. I had a runoff of 6.2-6.3ish. Now I think she's ready to be fed. I'll see what happens over the next couple of days and try to feed her accordingly. Thanks for the help people.

Looks like alil micro-nute burn.

Looks like alil micro-nute burn.

Take it easy on the cal-mag it's not really necessary if ya have hardwater and growin in soil. And don't be afraid of feedin em,pb is prurdy weak so if ya were ta get to carried away yer leave tips will tell ya a long before ya do any permanant damage.(FEED ME!) lol.... If yer worried about yer waterin, cut that O F with 25-30% perlite and put alot of holes in the bottom of yer pots. That way you can never overwater, and ya don't have ta guess if there dry enough yet,jus give it to em.Plus doin this will increase yer wet dry cycle which forces more air to the roots, the more air ta the roots the faster they grow.lol trust me,I've been doin this alota years.Best of luck to ya! Take care...BC

Thanks a lot B.C., I'll bump up the PBP veg in my next watering and set the Cal-Mag aside for now. Any advice on if/when to use the Sweet and Liquid Karma? I mixed half Ocean Forest and half Light Warrior this time around, hopefully it'll be a light enough mix. I'm not really concerned about my watering schedule, especially once I get this little issue straightened out. Thanks for the advice.

She's sleeping right now so I went ahead and made a mixture of the following: 10ml PBP veg, 4ml Liquid Karma, and 2ml Sweet adjusted to 6.2ph. Does this sound ok? The lights come back on in about 3 hours so I'll probably water then and see what my run-off ph is and update then.

Yeah, that sounds like a nice mild feed fer that fresh soil, after a week er two you can bump it up ta full strength and beyond.I would up the ph abit though 6.5-6.8 is best fer soil, but it's not going ta matter too much.Soil has a big buffering capacity to it. ...check yers pm's.Later,BC

I just fed her and put her back under the light. The runoff was about 6.3-6.4ish so I'm guessing that puts the soil at around 6.5? I tried checking my pms but it said I don't have enough posts, I also tried adding to your reputation but I guess I'm not allowed to do that either. Thanks for everything so far.

Thanks Steaks. She doesn't look completely cured yet but she's looking better by the day. I plan on vegging her for another month and I'd like everything to be in order before I switch to 12/12. My main concern right now is to keep the ph up. My digital Hanna ph tester should be here by the next time I water. I'd like to get it up around 6.6-6.7 and see how she does.
