Yellowing and brown spots outta no where@!

Hey guys I had 2 separate straints going, 1 plant of the nlxhaze and 2 plants of some other nirvana mix. All plants were doing pretty great and all of a sudden in about the third week strain 2 with the 2 plants both started yellowing and looking pretty limp, I transplanted into bigger pots and added perlite. Now the yellowing is getting worse, and brown spots are getting bigger and bigger by the day! anyone got any idea whats goin on? Im running 6 23w CFLs and i dont know what it could be since 1 strain is still great. Heres some pics of the poor girl :(

and here is the other plant so u can see not all is dead in the growbox

I would say runts but they are exhibiting signs which say otherwise... I don't know what medium your using, so please elaborate on that??? I'm assuming that it's a bad medium retaining way too much water... Your roots are dying!

aieee well thats what i was thinking so i transplanted to a bigger pot with miracle grow organic choice potting mix, which is the same soil since seedling, and perlite. If its watering issues if i just dont water will i be ok? any other things i need to do?

Yes... Ease up on the water... I like to use a spray bottle during the first few weeks of life... It makes it easier to give them just the right amount... That organic potting mix could be lightened up with a bit more perlite, it's a bit heavy imho... You want a medium that won't clump when you squeeze a fistfull in your hands... It should be airy and light...

ok im going to start using a spray bottle on this guy then, ill just wait to water till it gets bone dry. anything else i can do? and something like this cant be caused by not enough light can it?

I wouldn't ever recommend Miracle Gro to anyone for cannabis. Always start with a neutral, non-fertilized soil and add your own nutrients, organic or not. It's entirely possible that the fertilizer in your mix is overwhelming the little things. How much perlite did you add to the mix? Were you able to stick your hand through it with little resistance? That could be the cause of the overwatering, which as said above, causes root rot and kills 'em dead. Good luck! Pea©e

Nah the MG organic mix is fine... Just too heavy! It's better to mix yer own medium (esp for seedlings) but somefolks just have to use store bought due to circumstances... That MG Organic soil should be mixed with perlite, and lots of it, since there is barely any in it to begin with... Add your dolomite lime as per (1 tbls {I go a lil less} per gallon of mix), it REALLY does help balance pH later on... You could add bone and blood meals, oh and castings too, but don't have to if you feel comfortable, or are using liquid ferts... Hope this helped.

well I did mix with perlite, but now that i think about it i beleive it was miracle grow perlite! That shouldn't have any nutes in it tho right? And the leaves with brown spots are pretty brittle now... Should i flush it?

The perlite is just perlite, regardless if it's MG or not... The leaves with brown spots will not recover and they will slowly die off... It's the other (new shoots) part of the plant you should be worried about, as long as they are fine, well then you corrected the issue... I don't know about flushing just yet (the roots were just drowned in water, remember?), give it a little time as they need to rebound from the trauma... Happy grows and JAH bless...

i always start my beans off in a small container.
about a little bigger than a tall shot glass.
i find that the medium dries out alot faster allowing o2 to the roots.
i dont know what size container you are using, but it probably retains way too much water regardless to how much perlite you put in.
i have used mg potting mix before. not organic, just whatever mg soil they had.
i would mix 50% mg and 50% peat moss.
dolomite lime accordingly.
this is what I have done, until i went organic.
i never had a problem early on with this mix.
just an idea.
but definately let that medium dry out.

Do you ph or test the ppm of your water before feeding? I would not flush, the soils fresh right? that looks to me like there under feed at the moment. Would recomend a light grow feeding. Like at 1/2 strength recomended dose for early veg sprout/clone. 300ppm ish.

Looks to me like there taking nutes from the leaves to build the roots. recomended a light feeding. Third week, yah........ they need abit of food.

Whats the condition of the water u use to soak them with?
