Theres your problem right there. You HAVE to know your PH. Looks like some kind of PH lockout problem with over/under watering. Any drastic change in temps?

anti-future Thanks for responding so quickly. Is there a cheap way to test the pH in soil? I am guessing I would run distilled water until runoff and test that runoff with pH paper? would that be good enough?

Also, do you adjust pH the same as with hydroponic methods? What would be used for pH up and pH down?

If no cheap way, then I will need to spend some money for an important and long overdue upgrade. In that case, what kind of pH testing equipment do I need and how do you test soil pH with that? Thanks again.

that is a normal purple color for cannabis that is strain related.
Not nothing to do with phosphorus D.

Stitch - They just turned this color at the same time the leaves turned yellow. The clones were taken from plants that were not purple.

The bagseed WAS from a bag with purple bud, but this is the only purple plant, the others are not.

All the rest are SSH that have not shown any sign of purple. Thanks for all of the input. Any guesses? pH still the guess? purple plants? i'm still confused and my plants are going wack. I need help :)

unless you have been watering them over and over again using water with a whack pH, that soil usually buffers pretty well. What is the pH of the water going in?

U can test soil pH by watering with plain water and capturing the 1st bit of runoff, and testing that
or mix equal amounts of soil and distilled or RO water and let it sit for a little, then test the pH of the water
to raise soil pH wood ashes works, and to lower i've used garden sulfur, but unless the sulfur is powdered it'd probably take way too long to do anything for ya
to adjust water pH use pH up/down.

cheap ph test

cheap ph test

Hey, cheapest PH test I could find...actually the only ph test available here - for aquariums. I accidentally grabbed the lowrange, widerange is best but this works. Capture runoff, add to test tube, add 2 drops reagent, test colour via chart.

Our tapwater here is alkaline, 7.4-7.6...but the melted snow water in the pic is looking good. I'm getting a rain barrel going for water supply once spring arrives...

6.99 in canada at most petshops...

Peace

what kind of grow chamber are you growing in? i think the hydrohuts were causing plants to tweak out like that. if that is applicable at all.

Wait, I was wrong, after looking at tht first pic of it, I noticed the green part and the rest wqas purple, well then sounds like you have a problem then,

Hygrozyme, Flora Nova Grow, both every watering (drippers, 30 mL per day)

30ml of grow? How much dosage of each grow and hygrozyme, sounds like you may have lockout going from feeding every watering, you have to have some kind of water every other other feed, salt builds up quickly in soil and left over nutrients the plant does not use accumulates in the soil.

What do you mean drippers?
how often are you watering them?

okay, going to go buy a pH test kit and test. Thanks for all of the help.

paco - no grow tent, just black and white poly wrapped around a frame DIY style.

2 tsp per gal of Nova grow, 2 tsp hygrozyme per gallon. 30 mL of solution (as described) is fed by a drip system from a 6 gallon rez. I only use this for propogation so I have it all automated for ease. I'm guessing I need to change some things....

Once again, thanks for all the help, so quickly. To the pet store for pH test kit!

I would just start watering with plain water and chill on the nutes. after a week of no nutes, start back in with a light feeding of gentle all purpose organic ferts.

Last time I had red stems like that with yellow leaves I had a phosphorus defiecency that was corrected with a light application of 2-4-.05 fish emulsion. but that was during flowering, so , who knows.

I might go away from the automatic fertilizer and do it manually as needed.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful and diligent advice. I got the pH test and my shit was wack, as everyone guessed. Watering with distillled water for now to get things back to normal. THanks again and, as always, take it easy.

Your amount of nutrient solution you are using is causing your pH to be out of wack, I would lower your dosage, the amount for 6 gallons is a lot of nutrients man, and another reason why you are seeing nutrients being locked out.
