Yellow leaves

Hi all,

The bottom leaves on several of my plants (all in the same ebb and flow system) have turned apole yellow. Not dropping off-- yet-- but just very light yellow.
Is that a nitrogern deficiency and if so, how do I correct that?

Thanks!

Got a pic? Are the Veins on the blades still green? Are they in Veg or Flower? What are you feeding them? Are they all the same strain? (BTW Thai Stick is a method of preparation using buds Tied on a Stick and soaking them in Hash Oil and is not an actual strain)

Oops...I certainly did. Thanks for pointing that out to me. I need to remember that.

The pics show the bottom leaves of three plants, and one shot of the entire crop in their grow box. They are in a four-pod Esoteric Hydroponics ebb and flow system.
They have been in flower for about five weeks now, and coming along fine. How they all get in there is another story altogther, but the gist of it is that I had no where to place a new crop of sprouts, and in the end simply decided to let them grow out in the nursery instead of throwing them away.
So, there they are. They are all different strains including Dalat X Couchlock, White Widow X Couchloack, C99, Silver Haze, and Northern Lights. Feed is Canna Flora. They are all under a 600w HPS lamp. Water temp remains at approximately 22-23 degrees...air temp is at 27 degrees. It's a little on the warm side in there, I know, but that should be rectified shortly. I'll be installing another extractor fan.

About the Thai, yeah I was well aware of its uniqueness, having smoked it in the early 70's. But I can seem to break the habit if calling Thai weed Thai Stick. I will never forget the way that herb looked (all sticky and sparkly on that skinny little stick)

Anway, I would certainly appreciate any help I can get on the yellow leaves thing. Thanks!

I would not worry too much about the yellowing at this later stage. It looks like the plants are just drawing off their N reserve in the lower leaves. Plants are known to sometimes Sacrifice lower leaves that don't get much light to give more of their energies to the tops of the plant as well. This is just my Opinion and as I have no experience with Canna Nutes and haven't run hydro in a few years you may want to get other opinions (anyone else have 1?). It looks like you're gonna be havin some fun in a couple of weeks. Good Luck and Good Growing!

Thanks WWM...I appreciate your help. I was just about to come the same conclusion as yours. I think they have about three weeks left, so I'm just gonna PK 13-14 them and hope the yeild improves a bit. This will be my first time smoking any of these strains, so it will indeed be fun. I'm really looking forarwd to trying rh Dalat X Couchlock, and the Northern Lights. That C99 sounds really good too!

Thanks again, my friend!

Many thanks to you for sharing your grow. 3 weeks left? Now is the time that they really start to pick up weight. Keep the pics coming if ya don't mind. I'm digging your mix of strains and Style.

Will do, WWM. I think maybe I'll do a weekly update so the difference is clearly visible to the viewer.
This situation began as an excited me receiving all the new equipment from Esoteric Hydroponics, one of the companies I barter with for growing equipment. I have one six-pod and one 4-pod ebb and flow system, and one four-pod Aeroponics system (for propagation) to be used as a nursery for starting sprouts, and then bringing them through to the end of the vegetative phase of their development.

But when these babies all got ready to leave their nursery and move into one of my grow tents, I discovered I had severely misjudged the timing. The crop that should have finished, allowing these ladies to move into the freshly-cleaned tent, took a lot longer than I thought.
This left me with a full tent and no where to place all the little sprouts that were now ready to move on in their life cycle. So, I kept nearly all of them (there was a total of 20 plants in the beginning), changed the Duo Flouro lights over to a 400w HPS lamp system and the nutes from vega to flora to force them to flower right there in the nursery so I could at least get something out of the time and effort already spent.

So, that's the story behind the nursery full of adult plants. I need to try as many strains as possible until I discover two or three strains that work the best on my medical conditions, the worst of these being loss of appetite (I have gone from 260 pounds 20 months ago to my present under 120 pounds, and still losing). Slowly, since when I medicate myself with truly potent Cannabis I get a fair case of "The Munchies” and this, of course, helps to slow the weight loss.

Anyway, I’ll try my best to remember to post pics each week until they are harvested. The Morphine patches I must wear all day every day really screw with my memory.

Thanks, and all the best to you and yours!

I used to have those leafs in late flo before.
But I changed my recipe a bit(I'm in aero but could work the same in dirt):
When I start my flo,the first mix I do at lights 12/12 is a 100% veg. mix
Second week 25% flo nutes and 75% veg. nutes
Third week 50%-50%
Fourth week 75%flo nutes 25% veg. nutes
By the end of fourth week(beggining of fifth)100% flo nutes till the end.
Never had any yellowing since, plants are well packed in N.
I recently read,a grower stated he liked the yelowing at the end,so the N is well washed out of plants giving a smoother taste.
High levels of N is known for giving harsh taste.
I do a flush and have good results too,a comparison side by side would be interesting.

:yoinks: Woah! That's some wieght loss pal!
:ying: Here's some good vibes bro-- energy flowing!

Bump what Purp and Herb said. They don't look Bad. Mid to late flower Yellowing scared me when I first encountered it back in the day. I thought I was fu*ked. I hope it works out for the best.
