Yellow leaves.... with pictures!

Hi. Is this overwatering? Dont worry, I do give my girl extra light (150W CFL 2400k), I just had it a bit at my window to try it out as I think it is indeed overwatering, and the CFL doesent really dry the soil out. I watered every 2 days untill it began getting these ugly, yellow leaves. It also has some brown spots on some leaves, but I think this is a result from being a little too close to the CFL. It is about 2 - 3 cm away from it.

The link to the pics is in my next post. The forum didnt allow me to post them when I started the topic :nono:

Please ask if you need any more info to give a diagnose... :rasta:

I am using 2-2-2 (NPK) nutrients... small dose so far, as I dont want my beutiful plant to burn... just yet

Its about 2 -3 weeks into flowering, and it is a lowryder. I am giving it 18 - 24 hours light every day.. 24 is only if I am not home, though.

Thanks

No.

In your desperation to ensure your plant doesn't burn, you've underfed it. The yellow leaves you see are Nitrogen deficient and your 2-2-2 isn't enough to replace it. Get a proper bloom nutrient formula (or some tomato feed) or some Fish emulsion or Fish mix and give it a dose or two of that.

I realise Lowryder is an auto-flowering strain, but why so much light? 12-16 hours would be more than enough.

Ok :jump:

The stems are purple, too.

Yesterday I gave it some of the 2-2-2, so I guess I should just pour in some high nitrogen stuff next time. Also, I heard the plant needs close to no nitrogen when flowering?

When plants are into flowering they will start to eat themselves up. If the ferts are too light then they will just continue to consume what they need to make flowers & stretch from their own tissues.

Hey you got a nitrogen deficiency there, how often are you feeding your plants and the dosage?

Dtoker, if it browns in a few days and it was once yellow it needs more nitrogen, browning depending on the coloration could be from nute burn or the leaves turning necrotic from the plants sucking the nutrients dry and since you are hydro your plants will show it much quicker than soil grows....... the leaves do look like a nitrogen problem with the pics you showed Dtoker....... have you upped your dosage yet?

hi there stitch, im using organic nutes correct me if im wrong but i didnt think that u could burn plants with organic? they are 2.5-2-5 and im giving them full strength. im not hydro mate im in soil but i think u said before that its a soil-less mix? my mate recommended epsom salt what do u think?

Oh yes, you can indeed burn a play with organics, though it takes a little longer to burn them; but yes it happens very often.

WHat is the full strength you are using? What is the dosage?
Yes, If I remember correctly you are using a soiless mixture.

Epsom will work for magnesium, which it looks like you don't have any so yes I would add some.

How often are you feeding your gals?

Keep me updated to know :)

It's always good to have a NPK nute and some micronutes to go along with it....

you using distilled water or RO water?

do u think the nutes im using are ok then? If i get this epsom salt that should help then mate? Im using tap water left out for a few days.

Does your nutes have any micronutes added to them? AS far as npk ratio goes, yes it's just fine to use; but if it does not have any or much micronutrients you may need to buy a micronutrient only fert....

earthjuice catalyst, EJ microblast, sensi cal,cal mag are just a few that have micronutes in them.

well im using tap water so that is the only micro nutes that they are getting as far as i know mate??

ive just picked up a box of epsom salts for the mag, not to sure on the best way to administer them, shall i mix it in after ive mixed up my normal nute mix

ive just checked in the box and some of the middle level leaves around the budsites are curling under and have yellow tips? i guess this mite be a bit of overfert?

another question lol, ive been given some peat pots - they are 80% wood fibre and 20% light peat it says, are they ok to use?
