yellow leaves still

5 weeks flower under 400W HPS & 400W MH

17 days ago, Flushed soil
13 days ago, Fertilized with Big Bloom 5 tbsp/gal, white vinegar 2 tbsp/gal, Thrive Alive 3 ml, 2 tsp H202
9 days ago, N deficiency diagnosed: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=32827 ... watered w/3 tbsp Super Tea 5-5-1, a tsp of Epsom Salt and vinegar.
5 days ago, watered w/3 tbsp Super Tea 5-5-1, 1 tsp Tiger Bloom, 4 tbsp Big Bloom, vinegar, 2 tsp H202
2 days ago, watered w/same as above, no H202.

After the last watering, the colas tipped and fan leaves all the way up the plant started turning yellow and curling dry tips down.

I've been trying to lower pH top no avail ... reads around 8. Believe I have a piece of shit electric pH meter - last night it told me pure white vinegar had a pH of 7. Could I have gotten the soil to0 acidic? Could these symptoms be caused by low pH? Getting some test strips today.

Help and thanks.

firstly you deff have some kind of PH imbalance and nutrients are deff not going where they need to go(it could be genetics too).....i used to get yellowing like that early on into flowering, one major thing that really helped iwas dolomite lime, bone/blood meal in the soil mixture. Pulverize dolomite lime powder mixed in with a very rich in N fertilized soil helps alott. Ive been using FF ocean forest oil with perlite and dolomit lime with excellent results, lately no yellowing at all. you didnt mention the composition of your soil mixture, did you include dolo lime?/ if not i suggest nextt ime you add it as it is essential in keeeping PH in check. This does not mean u can throw away your ph METR or strips...just means you can rest assured PH will stay as balanced as nature allows. i really hope this helps you, and if noti really hope you get the answers you need, just hang tough and it will all work out! nice looking buds tho!

ar you testing your run off from the soil or you testing the ph of the water before it goes into the soil?

your problem you got is a nitrogen deficiency, if you dont have much or any nitrogen in your nutes your using then the problem is caused by to low of ntirogen mostly not caused by ph, from the plant the way its looking shows not enough in the diet of the plant, ph is not an issue here imho

get some fish emulsion or something and mix it in with your bloom ferts

if you cant just get nitrogen based nutrients then you will have to get some with a little phosphprus and potassium dont mix both together if the nitrogen has p and K then you wil be doubling it

depending on how close you are to harvesting,

you should always wait 1 week before using bloom ferts when your in flworing

and even then at least 1 o 2 times use grow fert, the plants still need nitrogen but not alot of it, to much will slow flowering down

so just use some nitrogen and read the info i gave and your plants will be ok,

the damaged leaves wil not recover but you will slow thje proces down alot so the leaves will still be somewhat alive and be able to get light and such

that last pic is caused by color changing strain, normal in alot of genetics in cannabis, think of it like trees chaging color for the fall :)

you need to add nitrogen every feeding from now till before you flush, the plants so badly depleated from nitrogen you wil have to suppliment untill harvest

as for the colors, thats not caused by ph, thats caused by the genes of the plant showing colors from either temps or from late harvest

cold temps can cause them to show color, they either show it because they do or the temps and evirment have to trigger it to show it

but there is no ph issues here, otehrwise the plant would show more problems
but thats my opinion on the matter

you fed 9 days ago

when a plant is deficieinct in a nutrient you have to feed it weekly depending on how bad it goes, the leaves wont recover but wil eventually die they are so depleated
but when you give them ntirogen you are supplimenting so they dont have to take it from there leaves

its using stored nitrogen in the leaves, there is so little which is why its not going away because your not giving it enough to catch up on what it was depleated in

Neither - putting probe in soil immediately after watering.

A new PH meter says soil is 6.5, so pH looks all good.

A guy at the hydro store suggested Super Tea 5-5-1 for N def in flower; doesn't seem to do the trick. Am 4 weeks from harvest (have to then - vacation).

sproutco, he is growing in soil. So 6.5 is fine.

hydro needs 5.5 - 6.3

soil needs 6.4 - 6.9

but erik, that is not how one tests the soils ph.
you need to feed it some water adjusted to a ph of about 7. Then water your plants and collect some of the run-off water.
Measure that.

Soilless mixes (potting soil) that contain peatmoss, perlite, vermiculite, pinebark, etc...more closely follow hydro ranges for optimum ph. This is just how the availability of the nutrients works. Outdoors in mineral soil, this optimum ph would be higher. Here is a ph chart. Use hydro ph range for soilless mix and the other for outdoor soils. Click on it to enlarge:

A good book that discusses using soilless mixes including ph range is: Water, media, and nutrition for greenhouse crops edited by David Reed at Texas Tech. isbn 1-883052-12-2 You may be able to get it at the public library.

erik...i would feed them really powerfully i guess if the PH your are reading is at the 6.0-6.5 range then that is 'ok' and stich would be correct in her 'prescription' feed them some N quick!!! if they dont turn green fast..then it could still be PH..check into the PH more deeply if a stroner fish fert or something really high in N like monster grow!

GOOD LUCK NYCDF420**

**edit** could this plant be rootbound?

i dont see anywhere , where he stated he was using soiless mixture....... did i miss that?

either way its not a ph issue, his leaves would be showing other problems, this is just a cmmon problem, this is 100% a nitrogen deficiency you are just not giving them enough

i would give them a good dose like 1 tablespoon for the first week 1 tbs per gallon of water
and you can mix it with your bloom fert your using now

and then after that feed weekly at 1 tsp per gallon and mix it with your bloom fert

problem will be solved if you do that

but remember the damage wont heal it wil get slowly worse since you cant use alot of it to solve the problem because you are in flower and dont want high nitrogen levels

Super Tea 5-5-1 for N def

teas are a bit more faster than powder forms of them but it has to be used at a big bolise dose if wanting to correct something quickly

and then continue to use it since its being missed in your nutrient formulas
but with this case, you dont want to feed 1 tbs per week with your bloom fert you will build up to much, right now you just want to give them enough to get them through flowering, correcting the problem will not work because it will delay flowering if given to much

so just give them what they need and thats it,
before you go into flowering wait one week next time before you use your bloom fert
make sure you dont have any problems before going into flowering

and after a week or 2 still using veg fert in flowering you can switch to bloom ferts and still use a very small dose of veg nutes as long as it doesnt have high levels of P or K
cause you dont want to cause lockout from doubling doses of P an K

nope that plant is not rootbound......

i deff agree, no more than ever that it is a N deficiency( idid mention something aobut soil rich in N), id still like to know your soil mixture is made up of...is there lots of perlite? did you use lime? did you mix in additional foods like blood meal bone meal?

*the mixture is essential in avoiding future issues, and be careful to not make the soil too 'hot' when adding your dry ferts* hope this helps you and you get some green back

Using FF Ocean Forest right out of the bag. Next time intend to use 75% Ocean Forest/25% Perlite plus a cup or two of lime and a cup ir two of Super Tea 5-5-1.

When I transplanted into the FF OF, I believed the instructions which stated no fert needed for 30 days. Some leaves started to look troubled after three weeks. Then switched to flowering a week later, so they never got any N rich ferts until I started to correct the problem last week.

I guess I could foliar feed some fish emultion by painting non-bud leaves with a paintbrush.

We're speaking of Super Tea, right? I've been mixing 3 tbs per gallon, according to the instructions for 9 days, and it's getting worse. The yellowing only affected the lower fan leaves then, now even the highest fan leaves on the colas are yellowing.

Anyway, I got some Biobizz Fish-Mix (2.1 0.2 6.6) which I'll try careful foliar feeding with.

OK, I see now the huge screw-up: Not fertilizing at all the last two weeks of veg or the first two weeks of flower, and on top of that, going right to bloom ferts. Thank-you for the insight, Stitch.

yes ive fed them lightly right away in FF OF and not had any problems, hope you fix your issues mate

Plants were not happy last night. Two were ready for a watering (by lift pot), all looked really unhealthy, shriveling up on top, pistols shriveling and turning brown/orange. Dark spots in the middle of some leaves.

ug, now you have burned them if you used to much of it :(

you must not have read my posts did you?

i told you what would happen if you used to much

you slow down lowering now you may be locking out nutrients because you used to much nitrogen, the damaaged leaves wont recover and i stated in my post what would happen if you used to much......

now you have to flush your plants, you got to much nitrogen and im sure now has caused the halt in flowering like i said it would......

you cant hit them that quickly with nutes like that.....

how often was you using it at 3 tbs per gallon?
\
reason why your pistils are dying off is from to much nitrogen now,

also what is your RH and temps and how close are the lights to your grow?

Stop it with all the fertilizer.
I tried to tell you a couple of days ago. And don't foliar feed. You need to rethink your fertilizer applications. In the future, try something more mild.

well he had a nitrogen problem, but he didnt read my post about how to use it right

now he added to much and caused an overfert problem

i hate when people dont read my post's
