yeild per gallon of medium average for coco?

hello all you coco growers.. im wondering what a good average yeild per gallon or liter of coco medium is possible..

i understand its all about genetics and the grower, blah blah blah...

tell me what size containers you use and what your average plant yeild is, and a quick little info about lighting, co2 or no, and pics of course would be cool..

i currently grow in promix and use either 1 gallon or 3 gallon grow bags. a good rule of thumb is about a oz a gallon give or take..

for a couple reasons including the possiblity of smaller mediums for the same size plants.. so im wondering if its better to go coco or just go with bigger pots or smart pots or whatever else..
i come here to see and hear why i should vote for coco.. lol
thanks in advance..

btw ive never grown coco but i seen healthy vigous vegging 5 foot tall plants in 1 gallon pots of coco, and this would be impossible in 1 gallon of soil.. ever since then ive wanted to switch but im like an old fart, stuck in my ways.. :bashhead:

2 gallon containers, very short veg time 3-4 oz dried.

Make the switch, it is easy to grow in,
very forgiving,
watch the PH (5.8),
can usually go a day or 2 w/o water,
feed every other wateringish,
get a calmag additive I like Sensi but any will work (heck epsom salt would work),
It collects salt more than other mediums (flush every 2-4 weeks with 2x-3x the gallon size of container (so I use 4-6 gallons of water)),
just drain away excess,
you can over water but it is hard,
consider like a 75/25 coco coir/perlite mix

Hope that helps

dont mean to hi jack, how many people only feed to a certain PPM when using coco. Iv read some people never go above 600 because its pointless they done need much food?? And iv read some people go WAY above it and claimed when they did try and lower it the deficiencies started to appear.

I finish in flower on around about E.C 2, always have and never have any deficiencies, but if this is a waste then would like to know lol.

I know its pretty dependent on strain but you know what im getting at.

Sorry again to hi jack, just thought you might want to know aswell. Coco rocks mate, make the switch, im just about to transfer from 11L square to 5gal square aeration pots (like smart pots).

The biggest thing I found with folks using smaller coco containers , was the automated setups that allowed the rootzones to dry out for explosive rootgrowth between feeds , but stay moist enough for constant nutrient uptake and plant transpiration during lights on....

Coco dries rapidly under HID lighting , so constant juice accelerates growth while keeping the plant eating and sweating in laymen`s terms....

Know several folks that grow 3-4 oz plants from 6" pots fed constantly......

CC......blumats work well with different strains run in the same room , cuz each plant eats differently and the sensors only feed as the medium dries out ftw.....

^DHF is right, its all about finding you're automated watering sweet spot. I never really remember what I get for weight as I am usually doing a few diff strains in diff size containers. I do remember recently getting just shy of 7 oz's from an Nevilles X Mango in a 1gal of coco. Coco rules!

Do air pots and smart pots provide the same benefits with coco as they do with soil? (Allowing you to grow a larger plant in the same size container)

Damn, I am rocking botanicare coco in 2 gallon smart pots with Canna Coco A+B, and flora nectar with age old grow(slightly) for a veg booster. Looking at about 2-3 weeks of veg. I will be stoked if I get 3-4 zips per plant. Gonna have like 30 plants under 2 thousand watts in a 4x8 tent and another 10-18 under a thousand watt in a 4x4. Would be nice :)

I have yielded 7 to 8 oz off 1 Gal Smart Pots and Canna Coco. Really there are too many factors, but on average a 1 Gal Pot with Coco does 3-4 oz with little veg time. You know the drill, more veg time and more light will give you more yield. Good luck.
