Y-Ducts

~fvk~

the Lion is going Guerrilla...
This might be a simple question but I'm not too sure of the answer so maybe someone else knows... Is it possible to have two exhausts running into a y-duct working as one exit without one dumping heat into the other? I know the air is going to take the path of least resistance but that's what I'm not sure about because of how y-ducts are angled...

Im planning on runnin that same idea for my lights. Two parallel rows of 4x600's 6'' air-cooled with a 8'' vortex fan at the beginning of each of the rows pulling air (from outside source) and pushing it thru the lights (using 8in-6in duct reducers of course). At the end of the rows, the two 6'' ducts will come together into a 6x6x8'' Y-duct with a 8in vortex fan strapped to the 8'' side pulling air up and out of the room. Sound good to anyone? any forseen probs with that?

you could probably get away with 2 6"s for that.

2 6'' fans to replace the two 8'' at the beginning? Or just two fans all together meaning a y duct at each ends with a 6'' on each end (one pushing and one pulling)? Im not sure what your sayin...

two rows with 6" all the way through(rigid aluminum ducting is far superior provides way less drag) one vortex fan infront of the hood rows(4 in each row right?) then a 6,6Y8" duct out the room....
just the way u had it but two 6"ers, you can get the 8"s if u plan to upgrade later, but if your only throwing the 6>8" converters itll save u a few bucks as the converters kill most of the extra CFM u just bought.

Yeah man, you're making perfect sense. Bigger exit = less resistance. I already have the 666 but I also have an extra reducer on hand so I'll have the throw it on the I of the Y.

You have a sweet setup Hippy. Thanks dude.
